The great institution that was the public mall. The sheer throng of people within the walls once the darker hours hit and the businesses were starting to close left little room to breathe. They packed in, desperate to get one last sale before it was done, to find some enjoyment out of being able to be a part of the consumerism that drove so many civilized countries.
Many were drawn into those hallowed walls, searching out one more little nick-knack to give to Suzie on her birthday, or to surprise Timmy with because he had gotten that A instead of playing with his electronic toys.
It was a great place to see humanity at one of its finer points. And even a better way to scope out a potential snack. Not that she actually needed that, mind you. No. She was doing it for the sheer joy of the stalk and the kill. The way that their scents changed as they slowly realized that someone was after them. That someone was going to kill them if they were not careful.
The look of relief when they first saw her before she truly struck never ceased to amaze her.
She did realize that physically she was not something impressive. She barely looked over sixteen and there could be a very coy innocence about her. She lied through her teeth and could lie better than most even dreamed. Her very demeanor, the way that she acted and even changed the way her eyes expressed things caught others by surprise.
This generation would have labeled her a serial killer. Many others would have simply stayed out of her way and feared her properly.
The general scoffing for her height and short comings was fairly unamusing in more ways than she could express. It only fueled her more to the task that she set forth for herself.
Currently she was sitting on a bench near the food court with a large pad of sketching paper on her lap. The charcoal pencil within her hand skimmed over the page, vague shapes of the people nearby appearing on the page before her. There was an odd beauty in the human race. Even more in what laid underneath the skin that they wore.
Mesu was a killer. She had known it from the instant that she attacked the boy when he dared to touch her brother. There had been no remorse. No feelings at all when she nearly gutted him for grabbing Henry's arm so hard he cried. The sound was not something she ever wanted to hear again.
Nor would she unfortunately. Henry was long ash in the ground. If those bastards had listened to her, he would not have been killed. She was the only one who kept them alive. No one dared to touch him when she was around. She had promised to take care of him. They made her break the promise. It was why she usually stayed alone now.
She dressed much like the teenagers did in this time period. Outfits made of fabrics that were soft and smooth, that barely hid anything from the eye while keeping her from being completely naked. It would not bother her to be naked at all. She was far more comfortable in her birthday suit, coated with a nice sticky sheen of blood.
The thought pulled the smallest upward turn in her lips. She tilted her head and studied the people walking around her. So much could be told just by looking at how they interacted with others. What they dressed in and how they spoke with not only words but the bodies. The small hints that they did subconsciously.
She was feeling fairly hungry, but she did her best to stay away from those whom were good. Those who had not done anything to warrant her stalking after them in the darkness. It was not as fun to kill those who were so innocent it hurt. Those like her brother Henry had been. No. She looked for the ones that society wanted taken out but couldn't actually get the balls to do it themselves.
Who would it be today?
The scratch of the charcoal pencil on the paper was drowned in the sound of the throng. One lone little person in the sea of humanity.
They never saw it coming.

I feel irrational So confrontational To tell the truth likeI'm Getting Away With MurderDo you know how stupid the mall was? OK. Take an ounce of idiocy, an ounce of teenage hormones, and then mix in people screaming over the latest fashions and stir till you have a headache. Poor into a big bowl of walking happy-meals, bake and set up like a building and you have the mall. Of course the vampire king didn't want to be here. He wanted to be back in Shi Falls where if he yelled shut up people listened. Or where he could go to his room and think through all the stressful things that he had to deal with. But no. Brietta wanted to go to the mall, and everyone thought it was a fantastic idea for him to take a small break from the palace, really he was just getting on everyone's nerves, so he did. Why was he getting on peoples nerves? He wouldn't let them just laze around. There were the majority that were working hard to find out as much as they could about the werewolves, and then there were the ones that acted as if they didn't care. Morons is what they were. Of course it was important! Werewolves were idiot creatures. All of them.
Teneberes moved through the crowd, not even bothering to dodge the people. They seemed to do that on their own. As if the lower species could smell the fact he was not to be messed with right now. Some girls snickered at how he looked like a freak, as if he had just gotten out of prison, and he couldn't help but smirk about that. As if the cops could ever catch him. Teneberes removed the smirk and sent them a glare, making one of the girls move closer to her boyfriend. He looked like a twig compared to any other vampire. The vampire king just smirked and looked ahead again, his eyes hidden behind a pair of sunglasses due to their slight crimson tint. He had been thinking to hard about figuring out the name of the werewolf king to remember to eat before coming to this world. It didn't matter anyways. He had strength to hold back any cravings he had.
The food court; the smell of food rushing through his sensitive nose made him sneeze. He wasn't allergic to human food, duh, but it stunk. It smelt revolting in so many ways he couldn't even count. Walking slower he sniffed the air. Human, Werewolf and Vampire scent thick. His lip curled into a small snarl at the smell of Werewolves, but decided to just leave them alone. He didn't want to deal with that right now. Plus Brietta had skipped off somewhere else and he didn't want to start something and they hurt her, ya know? Anyways. He looked around till he spot a familiar face drawing in a notepad. Mesu. One of the vampires that was in his army. He was grateful for his followers, without them he would be nothing. Just a very wise vampire. But he couldn't protect Shi Falls by himself. He knew that.
Walking across the food court as slow as any other human, because that was what he had to be today, he made his way to the bench that she was sitting at. "Good day, Mesu." Teneberes greeted the vampire and sat down next to her. He wasn't exactly sure why he chose to speak to the girl. Maybe because she was the only one around here that was a vampire that he knew. A few more familiar faces of humans and the offspring of people he knew, but no one he would ever hold a conversation with. They were worthless sacks of skin; like candy in a wrapper. Once you peeled away their skin you found juicy surprises. And you may take that in anyway you want to take that. "Having a nice day?" Teneberes asked, leaning back and removing his glasses and pushing them up onto his head. His hair was cut short and black like normal. As for clothing, he just wore a white shirt and some jeans.
Teneberes looked over at the vampire he was talking too. Not a large smile but not a snarl either. Just a normal look. Honestly his mind was else where right now.

That was perhaps one of the more amusing things about the mall. If you waited long enough you found something worth your time in one form or another. She had been searching for someone to stalk and kill, or just stalk and scare the hell out of, whichever amused her more in that moment when something more interesting showed up.
How anyone could miss him in a crowd, she had no idea. Beside the fact that he looked like the type of person society would automatically hate, he had a presence that few men could deny. The sort of thing that once upon a time others would have called undeniable. Powerful. The sort of man that others would follow because they feared what he would do if they didn't listen to him. Why else would so many people have followed men like Hitler and Stalin?
Pity that now the girls who skittered past him scoffed at his outer appearance. They should be on their knees, crawling and begging. And bleeding. That would only make it sweeter. They had no idea that there were true killers, true monsters amongst them. So naive. It almost hurt to see just how naive the human race could be about what they did not want to understand.
She let her gaze drift from Teneberes form, looking for the petite beauty that would have been the one reason to drag him out into the middle of this. She knew the man's daughter well. Physically she and Brietta were the same age, even if truthfully Mesu was only a hundred years younger than the King. He was far more interesting to follow and listen to than her sire had been. Unfortunately it was hard to get away from him. Nikolaos was ancient enough he had become an elder to the King. Pity for her. The man truly was a bore.
She put a few finishing touches upon the sketch before her and set it down within her lap. The sketch was of a couple that had been making out not too far away for the last thirty minutes. However instead of the two of them making out as they were, it was an image of the two of them huddling together and screaming with the boy's hand reaching out to elicit mercy from the unseen party on the other side of the image.
She inclined her head, letting her eyes turn over the sketch then up to the couple. Not bad. It looked like them but the facial structures were only guessing to how their faces would light up with terror if they were placed in the position where they could be killed. Sad how they could not figure that out. "Good day, Teneberes. Dragged out it would seem." She let her lip curl up into a grin, the first rupture of the facade that she was a normal teenage girl. "Where might she be?"
Unlike some of the others, Mesu did not mind Teneberes or his daughter at all. In fact she found them far more interesting than most of the so called vampires that dwelled within Shi Falls that she had met. The King was as cold and ruthless as they came, and while his daughter often appeared to be child-like in how she acted and interacted with others, the brunette knew better than to believe it. There was a side to Brietta that rivaled her own.
And frankly it only made her admire and adore the pair of them even more. "I find the day more interesting now. Perhaps one or both of you may wish to join me later for a meal?" The question sounded benign enough. The man would know better. Her voice sounded soft and even a tad upbeat. Far from the actual voice she had. It was lifeless and cold, almost monotone in a manner. "There is likely to be something to be... found here."
Her eyes turned around the area and she could only grin more at the looks that others were giving to the pair of them. She had little doubt to what it seemed like to them. Stupid creatures. It was a shame she technically started out as one. She glanced back to him and closed her sketchbook.

I feel irrational So confrontational To tell the truth likeI'm Getting Away With MurderTeneberes let a low chuckle slip from his throat really, his lips were just the messengers. Many knew he had the ability to laugh, few ever got a genuine one. Even now it wasn't a true laugh, it was more of a sarcastic one. Like "you don't know the half of it" laugh. Teneberes couldn't remember the last time he actually laughed, like a true laugh. It could have been centuries ago, or a few days ago, it wasn't something he really kept up with. Laughter was pointless if used in the wrong way. To many people laughed now a days for no reason, just because they found something slightly amusing. It annoyed the vampire king to where he was half tempted to rip out their throats and see how well they could laugh then. But he didn't, he could keep his temper, it just wasn't a very smart idea to do so, ya know? If you let someone walk on you, then you had no respect, then you mine as well not be the leader, just another follower.
But back to what he was doing. "Apparently I work too hard and needed to get out of the castle. And when everyone agreed, I figured this should be an argument I let them win." Teneberes spoke in reply to her words, the same thing that caused the chuckle earlier. Teneberes' crimson tinted hazel eyes scanned the crowd when she asked where Brietta was. It was impossible to keep up with the girl in such a crowded place. Smelling the air, he caught a scent of her toward a store. "Shopping." Teneberes said, waving a hand toward the store she was at. Mesu was a very talented vampire. Almost everyone that was in his army was, or else they had a chance of being killed. And maybe not even by Teneberes; he didn't pluck out the weak and keep the strong always, he knew a couple of wimps had other things they could do, but if you couldn't stand up for your own in a fight; then the opponent would kill you quicker then your mind could register the pain. Stupid way to kill someone though. Pain was always the most fun, watching them twitch and lying in their own blood; the look of fear and pain before they finally die. That was the way to do it.
Teneberes heard Mesu's question hit his ears. To the humans it would sound completely harmless. Just a quick bite between friends or whatever they might be. But Teneberes knew that any one of these people could be that later meal. "Sounds intriguing. I'll be sure to join you, and if Brietta wants she can come along." Teneberes' voice was still kind of firm and harsh. Not toward Mesu though, the scent of werewolves was keeping him up on his guard. Though there wasn't many, he knew they could be spies. "Filthy mutts. Ruining every moment of life." Teneberes growled out low so only Mesu could hear him. Or any of the damn dogs that was listening to him. He didn't feel like picking out which ones should have had flea collars on, it didn't matter. Humans and werewolves were horrible creatures. If vampires didn't need humans so much for food, then he would just suggest killing them all off. Eyes trailing after the girls that had made the earlier comment about prison. They would occasionally glance over and giggle about something. "I have a few in mind." Teneberes mused out, a small smirk curling onto his face.
Teneberes looked over to see her sketchbook, glancing into it and then up at the couple that was on a different bench. "You're pretty damn good." Teneberes spoke out. He liked the way they were cowering. The looks on their faces were priceless. It made his mind travel back to a few killings he had done a while ago, a young couple coming out of a club, drunk off their ass. Teneberes killed off the man without leaving the shadows and took out the wife soon after, their faces looked a lot like the ones in the sketch. But all humans looked a like after a while. That's why picking out a queen was so hard. He didn't want just another human, he needed someone that would do the more girlie things about the house without being clingy. He wasn't marrying the person. He just hoped Brietta would have a while to wait before she was the queen, and he needed a fill in for a while. Of course Teneberes didn't speak of these plans to anyone.
"Find out anything interesting about the mutts?" Teneberes asked, leaning into the bench a bit more. He doubted it. It was like no one could get information on the werewolf king. He didn't hold it against anyone, well most the time he didn't, but he knew he was going to have to go about finding out who the king was before they attacked. Teneberes was not going to allow himself to loose this war.

Ah yes, that chuckle told her everything that she needed to know. She generally would not have expected to find the man in this place. One of her greater skills was the observance that she had. It was how she had learned a good many things when she was younger, simply by watching others. Learning to read them and how they reacted to different stimuli that came into their way. It was something that many forgot, yet she from a young age always enjoyed. It gave her time to herself and often let her discover things others did not wish her to know.
Unfortunately, most of that was just tripe lately. She too could smell the wolves about, yet they usually would stay away from the scent of a vampire. Few actually had enough balls to confront them. Less so if they came too close to Mesu. The girl very often had many tricks up her sleeve. And plenty of time studying the human form to know all of its more interesting characteristics, strengths and weaknesses.
The eyebrow closest to him lifted when he spoke before she glanced at him. "They do say all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. But I doubt they could understand what it is like to someone that truly lives for their job." She left it at that, not wanting to say more within the presence of so many donors and the possible mutt that could come along. Her eyes glanced in the direction his hand moved with only the slightest narrowing to hint to him that she was picking the girl out of the crowd. "She is a lucky girl." What girl wouldn't want to get everything that they wanted handed to them so easily? She was not jealous. Mesu had more than she needed and there really was only one pasttime that made her truly happy.
She almost smiled when he said that he would join her, and Brietta could also if she so wished. It was much more entertaining to take down a group of them and just watch the fear in their eyes. Yes. The man sitting near her knew it. Only a true killer would enjoy something like that. "I would definitely enjoy that. I have been keeping to myself lately. It is about time that I had a bit of fun with others." Mesu often kept to herself and disappeared at times, reappearing when either needed or she saw fit to. She had never failed to answer the call when her King needed her. She was uncertain what she was to him, but it did not truly matter. She followed him without question and was more than willing to do anything he asked. Why wouldn't she? It always involved pain, blood and death. Her favorite things.
Her two toned eyes turned up and looked around slowly, looking for something that seemed off, but unfortunately most of those nearby were either mindless humans or pretty good at acting it. Mesu could keep up with the best of them, but few missed her radar if they were fake. The scent was there, but she had yet to hear anything that would suggest a mutt was close by. "The day they can be leashed or destroyed will be best for us all. Furry things always carry the greatest risk for spreading disease."
She idly flicked a piece of lint from the corner of her sketchbook, inclining her head to the compliment on her artwork. It was rare anyone saw her sketches. She'd spent some time when she was younger finding out everything she could about the human form. Studying what she could of it. Poor creatures she used to aid her. They really only lasted so long before she had to search out another one and resume where she left off. Pity. Each one was so unique, even if all parts tended to be the same.
She sighed and made a face before leaning back and curling her legs up onto the bench. "Unfortunately not. The weak do not know and the strong well..." She shrugged her shoulders and let a far more dramatic sigh escape her lips. "I fear I break them before I break the information. Though I have noticed a disturbing increase lately in the general population." She frowned and glanced around slowly before turning up to him. "Almost as if someone keeps leaving out more and more food to keep them happy and coming." She shook her head. "Sad that people are not catching them and either fixing them or simply removing them from the population of strays."
That spawned a rather interesting idea to her head. How much easier would it be to get information from them if first castrated? It was almost enough to make her giggle with glee.

I feel irrational So confrontational To tell the truth likeI'm Getting Away With MurderMesu seemed to get the entire meaning behind the chuckle, she was a smart little cookie. One of the only vampiress that Teneberes really wasn't interested in, in a intimate sort of way. She was pretty, she held everything that Teneberes was attracted too; but there just nothing there. Teneberes had never worried about it, I mean, it wasn't like it was his or her fault that he didn't like her in that way. "She'd make an interesting choice for queen though." Teneberes thought to himself, rolling the idea over in his head for a little bit before throwing it away. Sure she would be close to the perfect choice. Talented, sadistic, a murder and very intelligent; but at the same time he didn't need a queen that did all that. Teneberes needed someone that did the lighter things around the castle. And to try and see Mesu doing 'girlie' things made him want to fall off of the bench laughing.
Teneberes' eyes had fallen back on Mesu through his thoughts, seeing her eyebrow raise and hearing the words leave her mouth, a small smirk spread across his own. "I think the last thing I have to worry about is being a dull boy. There are plenty of things to do around the castle." Teneberes stated lightly. It was true. He could ask one of the maids for a bit of fun, or try to find someone to find for his queen, or as a maid for fun, or start up a one hand hunt.. did I mention asking a maid for a bit of fun? Oh.. Well anyways. Point is there was plenty more to do at the castle then just worry about the invasion, but that was at the very top of Teneberes' list. I mean, sure Teneberes could just chill out and pretend like nothing big was about to happen, but it is going to be kind of hard to chill when him, his daughter and his entire kingdom was killed, enslaved or worst; kicked out into the human world? Her next set of words brought Teneberes back to the mall, instead of lost in his own thoughts. "I guess. I just wish some of the others would realize she is fully ready to take over this kingdom when the time comes." Teneberes said, taking his glasses from the top of his head and slipping them back over his eyes. The smells were rushing through the mall, especially the smell of blood. It was tempting, but Teneberes had been around long enough to turn off a temptation or two.
Teneberes liked the thought of eating soon though. If only it was a bit later. Teneberes liked hunting right before the sun set; to where there was more shadows then light. He'd appear long enough for the chase to start, watching the fear etch into their faces as they gasped or screamed; that was the second best sound in the world, was that first scream. Then they would start running, and Teneberes would sink into the shadows, running silently beside them. Once they thought they had successfully out done him, that small flicker of hope passed over their face as they stopped. Then he would leap out, that last scream and the look of hopelessness; that was the best. "Group lunches are great fun. If you go with the right person." Teneberes mused. Talking in code was probably the easiest thing to do. Human were so stupid and oblivious to it. None of them knew that their lives were time bombs, and that at any moment Teneberes or any other vampire could shorten the fuse on it. Quiet pathetic, and yet, vampires needed them. It was almost a slap in the face.
"I should have just killed them off all those years ago.." Teneberes thought to himself. When the old werewolf king turned into a traitor, when the big war happened, instead of just kicking them out into the human world (though that was far worst then death), he should have just killed the mutts. It would have saved time now. He wouldn't have to be here in the mall. Every little action had a consequence; didn't it? Teneberes was shook from his thoughts by her words yet again. It was starting to get a touch annoying actually; but he figured it was his own fault for thinking so hard while he was supposed to be engaging in conversation. "Patience, Mesu. One day they'll all be impounded by their own greed." Teneberes looked at Mesu as the words left his mouth. He would have been happy to share the kingdom with the wolves, he didn't mind it all those years ago; but the traitors couldn't be happy with sharing. They had to flip on their friends, biting the hand that supported them. It was their own moronic decision that got them kicked out, and now a moronic decision that was going to get them killed. "Morons. Never having enough. Eating till they explode." Teneberes smirked at all the facts about the common house hold dog. They were acting like it.
Teneberes waited for her reply, thoughts going through his head once more; only this time the thoughts held no real importance to the war or what he was doing right now. Simple things like where Brietta was, what he was going to wear tomorrow; things that just kept his mind worked out so it didn't go into shock if he ever had to make a hurried decision. "Whoever it is, he seems to be a sly person." Teneberes mused to himself really, but out loud. "He probably doesn't let the weaker members of the pack know anything. Just telling them where to go with no excuse." It sounded pretty smart. Maybe, if done the right way. But it was also possible to back fire. If there wasn't any trust, then there was no reason to be employ them. Glancing over at Mesu at the mention of fixing the 'strays'. The look in her eyes made a smile spread across his lips as well. "Looks like someone found a new form of torture." Teneberes mused out quietly.

She would have been as flattered as she would have laughed if he had asked her that. She felt little attraction for the man sitting near her. Part of that was because Mesu often broke whatever toy she had, and she would hold off a part of herself in a relationship with someone that she actually respected. It just was not meant to be, but she did not lament it. Teneberes let her do whatever she wanted, and all but encouraged her to be as cruel and bloodthirsty as she could be. What more could a girl want in the one who ruled over her? It was far more entertaining to be one that he held in regard as a comrade rather than a little mindless flimsy to do the things about the place he didn't want done.
Plus, she had a strong feeling that once Teneberes went, whomever was his Queen would be killed by Brietta, and death was the one thing that Mesu fought against with every inch of her being. She actually did like the girl. She saw past that childish act that the other girl put on at times. They were not the best of friends, she and Brietta, but Mesu did enjoy her company at times. About the only one that ever dragged her into girly things was Brietta. She did it because it was fascinating to her to watch the girl in action and well, if you did not dote upon her, there were other things that could happen to one for that.
Death was not on her agenda.
"Very true. But it could be their process. Plus they do twitch so much more when you are around." She almost chuckled at the thought. Mesu respected the King but she did not truly grovel or fear him as others did. He did not seem to mind that. Otherwise, why would he be sitting there having a conversation with her? "That will be their downfall. I plan to be one of those on her side, reveling in putting fear into their faces for thinking that she shall be so easy to push over or control." It was not a direct way of saying that Mesu would side with his daughter if she still breathed then and be certain the others respected her. She knew where her loyalties laid.
It had been some time since she hunted with anyone else. Usually Mesu's hunts ended in a good deal of blood and sex. Not something that she shared with anyone else. It would keep her curbing her enthusiasm some when it came down to it, but still she could have a good deal of fun. "So few enjoy my idea of a lunch that I often am alone in my exploits. Shame really. I fear I am too... hardcore for the rest." She had to choose that word carefully. She was not certain what was best. Perhaps perverted. She reveled in taking down anyone that reminded her of her past.
Her two toned eyes turned up and about the world around her, taking in what she could see of it. There were so many that could make for some wonderful meals she was seeing. Yes they could. She unfolded her legs from their place folded below her sketchbook, stretching them out as far as she could. It was interesting the difference between her and those who looked as she did. The eternal seventeen year old. So petite, lean and unassuming looking. Who honestly would think her the killer that she was?
Even if she was looking all around her, her attention was focused on the man beside her and what he was saying. She had a feeling that this King did not tolerate weakness, as Teneberes did not. Any sort of weakness would be quickly trampled out. Something that she could respect to be honest, but it was irritating here. They needed to figure out who he was before he got to be too big for his breeches.
"Keeping the strong weeded out would not have been a bad idea. Do the opposite of the Spartans. Toss away those who were going to be strong, keep those who would be easier to control." She took a breath and sighed it out slowly, leaning back more into the bench behind her. "I would not be surprised if the ones who would know are strongest. The weak could be kept in the dark easily with the right tricks. Cannon fodder to save for later." She was musing aloud, wondering if she wasn't too far from the mind set of the wolf king. They would need numbers besides just strength.
She did laugh when he replied about her new idea. The sound was far too light and bubbly for her actual personality. It lasted longer than it could have, a sound that no one besides the man at her side would realize meant bad things for those who heard it. Mesu rarely laughed with pure glee unless it involved pain and death. "To remove them would be quite a painful event. They don't have to be working for the rest of it to either. All the more pain to cause." She turned with a smile that fit in with the glee her laugh had.

I feel irrational So confrontational To tell the truth likeI'm Getting Away With Murder"Well, twitching can be amusing to some. Though normally it is better to see someone twitch then do it yourself." Teneberes said, thinking out loud more then talking to Mesu. He knew many people shook in his presence, thinking way back into his past for a moment, back before he even knew what the word hatred truly meant, he could get the slightest memory of Jason Teneberes; sweet, respectable son. Never did anything wrong. A smirk spread across the vampire kings face at the thought of how different he was now. For the better. When he learned what hatred meant, when he first tasted blood, that was when his life truly had meaning. Before hand, it was like the filler chapter of a great book. The part that everyone wanted to skip but kept reading just to make sure they didn't miss anything important. His thoughts, however, were pulled from the memories and put back into reality. "Wise decision. Brietta is much like a twix bar. It looks sweet on the outside, but is really sticky and ready to choke you on the inside." Teneberes said, smiling at the thought of his metaphor. It really didn't make much sense, but at the same time it kinda did.
Teneberes, again, smirked at Mesu's words. He was finding the girl more and more amusing to chat with. Maybe he should do it more often. It was getting his mind off of the war and all the wonderful little things that came along with it. Like fear of losing the few that was close to Teneberes, or losing his kingdom. And--.. great, now his mind was back on it. Pushing the thoughts back into his mind, he tried to remember what Mesu had said that amused him earlier. Oh right. "I'm afraid to say that no many are as sadistic as I like. Luckily there are the rare jewels such as yourself." Teneberes stated. It was true, that a few of the vampires that he respected weren't sadistic. Strong, fast and practically unbeatable in combat with someone that wasn't equally trained, but as for sadistic.. no. "Something about the last scream of a creature is my favorite. Looking in their eyes as you see them give up hope and prepare to cross over to whatever might lie after this life." Teneberes said his thoughts as if talking to a dream teller in question of what his dreams meant. Of course they weren't dreams, though.
Teneberes leaned back against the bench again, his hands falling slightly between the three to four inch gap between his knees, elbows resting on the middle of his upper leg. Teneberes let a breath out, it coming out as more of a slightly bored sigh. Mesu was amusing, and great company, but he wanted more. He wanted to play his favorite game of cat and mouse with one of those girls from earlier. In fact, he could imagine how they'd scream for their parents before dying. Apologizing over and over. The thought of how they picked on the wrong person, of all their other victims of harsh comments running through their minds as well as those they'd be leaving behind, as the crimson liquid ran from their veins into his mouth. When their heart locked up from not having anything to pump, the feeling of them going limp. All this made him absentmindedly run his tongue over his teeth, his eyes scanning over the crowd before finding the little group of chattering girls again. He needed to pick which one he'd take.
"But quantity isn't helpful if you don't have any strength. Mindless people mean they can't think on their own. And if the battle plan doesn't work out right, they have to use their own mind to still win." Teneberes had thought about it before. How he might push being strong too much, but he didn't expect physical strength from everyone. Sure, they had to be able to hold their own in a fight, but he also wanted smart ones, sly ones, the kind that could walk into a camp and no one expects that they are really geniuses. If all you could do was bench press two-forty, then you were useless to the vampire king. "It is a smart tactic, but one that could easily back fire. Would you honestly serve me if I didn't trust you with information? Why even employ someone that you can't trust." Teneberes stated his earlier thoughts. He wasn't exactly sure if Mesu was saying she thought the assumptions of the way the wolf king ran his pack was smart, or if she was stating they were dumb; either way, he was glad to be having this little chat with her.
She was so sadistic! It was wonderful. To know that his kingdom was as dark as he was. Or some of his kingdom at least. Maybe one day he would make a special group for the especially sadistic, like himself; his daughter, Mesu and the few others. The laugh was what made these thoughts spread. "You'll make someone a find wife one day, Mesu." Teneberes said, sarcastically; but playfully. Love was so overrated. It was a crutch, nothing more or less, to keep a vampire connected with their human roots. Pathetic. But if Mesu ever fell in love, then he was sure that she would make a fine wife, even if the comment was meant to make the castrating topic a bit more funnier. To him at least. "The thought of a wolf being castrated makes me glad. Pounds are full enough as it is." Teneberes stated, his smirk growing slightly wider.
Boredom struck, hard and unexpectedly. You could be having a great time and then... BAM! You're bored. Or, that was how it was for Jason. He didn't do well sitting around and doing nothing. Teneberes stood up, adjusting his shirt a little and then turned around to face Mesu. He pushed one hand into his jeans back pocket, and the other one came around and offered it to Mesu for help off the bench. Though over the years he ignored the training of how to be a gentleman that was practically beaten into you from his original generation, he did occasionally show the slightest gesture that he was as respectful as back then. "Care to cause some trouble with me?" Teneberes asked. He wasn't sure what he was going to do, but it would be something. His eyes flashed mischievously from behind the tinted sunglasses and a smile was spread across his lips.
