drink up me 'earties, yo ho !- - - -
The little raven-haired girl was practically skipping down the pathway. She didn't have anywhere to go; anyone to see; and she had a lot of freetime. The thing was: what should she do? The park was one of her more popular options—when none of her friends could hang out. Which, convienently, they couldn't. Her first favorite option was the graveyard. But it was too perfect of a day to go there. The graveyard was fun because...well, she wasn't sure. It was gloomy, and she kinda liked that feeling. As well as the thrill when a stick cracked behind you or some stray cat meowed. The adrenaline shoot it gave you. It was almost like being in a horror movie. And she rather liked horror movies. A pair of pink earbuds were in her ear as she skipped along and hummed to the song that was playing on her purple 'chromatic.
"Yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate's life for me!" she sung. Her voice was loud enough that anyone in the general area could hear her. She didn't care though. If she wanted to sing, why couldn't she sing? The worst that could happen was...okay, so the worst that could happen was probably getting charged by the police for 'disrupting the peace' or what-the-fuck-ever. Hopefully no one would find her that annoying they'd call in the 'fuzz'. And so, the singing continued on its merry way, "We pillage, plunder, we rifle and loot! Drink up me 'earties, yo ho! We kidnap and ravage, and don't give a hoot! Drink up me 'earties yo ho!"
So, today, Kiara was in a rather...odd mood. Maybe. It was always a bit hard to tell with her. To her, behaving this was was prefectly normal and acceptable. To others—well, to most—it probably seemed extremely odd to dance around the park singing. Boo hoo for them!
A camera swung from Kiara's hand, attached by a long, thick strand designed with pink and green and blue and purple things. Things meaning: rainbows and candy and bows and bears. Cute shit like that. It was a nice camera; professional make and really good quality. Her parents had gotten it for her for her birthday last year when her old one stopped working right. It was an amazing camera, really. She loved taking pictures. And honestly, despite her parents idea on the matter, she wanted to take photography up as a career. Her parents didn't approve. They thought she woudn't get anywhere in life. It was fine as a past-time. But she needed a 'real' career to make it in the world. One where she would be stuck in an office all day. Fuck that. Kiara was not the person you would be able to get to sit still in an office all day. She'd much rather be outside or modeling people for her pictures.
And that, was that.
After a while, Kiara slowed down her walk, coming to the little play area in the park. The place with the swings and slides and stuff. She took a seat on one of the swings and looked around her. What to do...what to do. Now that was the question. But what was the answer?
"Hmm, hmm, hmm..." She looked around her. The park was always a great place to take a picture. Especially at this time of day. It was the early afternoon, and the sun always looked just right on everything and everyone. Of course, it was also the winter...in Russia. And it was cold. So not too many people were out. Though most people in the small town they lived in were natives—people who's family's had been here for generations—and they were used to the cold. Kiara had only been here around...four years? Something like that. Fortunately, even coming from warm Los Angeles, she had been able to adapt to the cold pretty well. Better than she could say for her parents. They were the ones who decided to move here, and they couldn't even stand being out for more then like, ten minutes!
There was a family or two here, though. A couple of moms and their little kids. Then Kiara found the perfect picture, and snapped it with a smile. Kids were always great material for pictures. So were families. And the picture she got would hopefully turn out amazing. A mother helping her little boy (who was, of course, bundled up against the cold) down the slide. How cute...

Are you okay? You look pretty low, very handsome, awkwardSleepy eyes opened and glanced around his room. Cathan needed to get away before his mom and step dad woke up. Cathan liked being alone, but wasn't that much of a hermit. He rolled out of his bed and stumbled over to his drawer. He rummaged through the drawer for a clean pare of skinny jeans, along with a clean shirt. When he couldn't find either, he ran down to the wash room and grabbed some out of the dryer. A Pair of faded black jeans and a lime green shirt. He ran up the stairs and proceeded to get dressed. Pulling his pants on and then buttoning them, and then pulling the shirt over his thin frame.
Next was his hair. he warmed the black straightener up and ran it through his hair a few times. When he was sure it was perfect, he pulled the plug and slid the straightener in the drawer that was under the sink in his bathroom. Next thing to go on was the boy's eyeliner. Not to much, but not to little. He didn't want to look like a fag. Not that that was possible or anything. He walked to his closest and found his wide array of studded belts. He picked his green and black studded belt and run it through the belt loops in his pants.
He got his favorite wristband and slid it on, and then tied a bandanna around his neck. Feeling like he was forgetting something, he looked it the mirror and realizing he didn't have his lip rings in. Trying to decide weather to go with spider bites or snake bites, he went with the spider bites. After putting them in, he put his shoes on and grabbed his messenger bag. It was black with a skull on it. But you couldn't really see it because it was so covered with buttons and pins from different bands and shit.
He ran out the door and started walking tot he park that was right by his house. He pulled the hoodie out of his bag and slid it on. Feeling slightly warmer, he made his way to the entrance of the park. Seeing a few families and a chick with a camera. Cathan found an empty spot on the grass and sat down. It was pretty quiet and a perfect place to sketch.
He pulled the sketch book out of his bag and then a pencil and started to finish a sketch he started the night before. stroking the pencil across it a few times, it started to take shape. This sketch was making Cathan really happy. It was a sketch of a bunch of Zebras. Normally that wouldn't be cool, right? Well, when it was colored, Cathan was going to make their reflection in the water have multi-colored stripes. cool, huh?
Cathan was unnaturally good at art. He had been since a young age. He expressed his thoughts through art and not words. Being he was mute when he was younger. He still didn't speak much. It's not like he was scared of people or anything. In fact, if you even got him to talk, he was quite of a chatter box, But he could be an ass alot of times. But to be his friend, you needed to learn to love his flaws, which he had alot of.

drink up me 'earties, yo ho !- - - -
Still looking out the lens of her camera, she looked all around the park, trying to find another 'perfect picture'. Of course, her pictures weren't really perfect, were they? She wasn't a professional or anything. But her shots were still pretty good. She'd always had a knack for taking amazing shots. Well, other than with nature. People-shots came better to her than nature-shots did. For some reason, it had always been easier for her to capture a shot of people interacting or doing something than it had been to get the perfect shot of nature. Maybe that was because nature was more...serene...more beautiful, than people. It was harder to get the perfect interpretation of nature than it was to get one of a human. Luckily, this middle-of-fucking-nowhere town was pretty rural in some areas. Nature scenarios were much easier to find here than they had been in Los Angeles. That was a given, though.
Then her camera lens stopped on a boy slouched over a notebook; drawing. Kiara smirked and snapped the picture of the concentrating teenager. That was definitely a perfect shot of a person right there. Capturing the boy right in his work. She rarely got to do that. Though she'd always wanted to. There was something very enticing about watching him work. Kiara put her camera down, around her neck this time, and took out the pink earbuds, turning her iPod off and back into her pocket.
Hopping up, she made her way over to said boy. How she hadn't noticed he was here at first was weird. Well, maybe not. She could be kinda oblivious at times. So perhaps it had just been one of those moments. She'd found him now, though! Kiara snuck up behind the bench, until she was over the boy's shoulder—trying to get a glimpse of what he was currently working on. Zebras? Hmm...cool. "Hey Cay," Kiara greeted in her normal cherry voice. She ruffled the older boy's hair quickly with a giggle before climbing over the back of the bench and plopping down next to him.
Cathan was her best friend by far. More of her brother, really. Hence why it was really weird she hadn't noticed him at all. Still, too late now. "How ya doin' on this...fine, fine day?" she asked, her voice dripping with a bit of sarcasm. Yeah right: a fine day here? It was cold and there wasn't much to do. Boo. "Nice drawing, too," Kiara added thoughtfully, a smile on her face. And Cathan better know that she meant that compliment. Anyone who knew Kiara could tell you: she said her opinion straight-up; right to your face. It was stupid to sugar-coat things. But she'd always loved Cathan's art works. No matter what it was. He was an amazing artist; and something about his work—not only the way that he did it—amazed and enticed her.
"Got any plans for the rest day, my brotha'?" she smiled again and gave another laugh as she waited for the boy's answer. Spending the day was always something awesome and fun. If she could get him to talk, of course. And she was rather good at that, if she said so herself.

Are you okay? You look pretty low, very handsome, awkwardConcentrating more on his drawing, he found him self lost in his work like he normally did. He finished the first set of strips and was about to start on the next set, until he heard someone behind him. He jumped a little bit, then turned around to see who it was. Oh, it was just Kiki. He messed with his hair, making Cathan roll his eyes and swat at the younger girl. "How ya doin' on this...fine,fineday?" A smirk grew upon Cathan's lip as he shot her a sarcastic look. It was pretty friggin cold outside, probably the reason for her sarcasticness. He paused for a second the took his eyes off of his paper and looked at Kiki. "Other then freezing my ass off, pretty good."
she commented on his drawing and the innocent smirk was replaced with a cocky smirk. "I know." Cathan wasn't vain, he was just an ass. Well, to most people. He could never really be mean to Kiara. The only time he was mad at her, it was playful. And if anyone got mad at her, Cathan would unleash all 5'6" of kick ass on the other person. Okay, so maybe Kiara could defend herself better then Cathan could defend a kitten, but it was quite fun, thinking up these little things. Ya' know?
"Got any plans for the rest day, my brotha'?" that sarcastic smirk returned to the boy's face. "Use proper English and I might tell you. It's Brother. with an 'Er'." Still, just joking with the girl. "Nah, I'll probably draw, draw some more, eat, then draw and maybe I might even clean my room!" Cathan said. That whole 'Clean his room' part being sarcastic.
Cathan detested cleaning. with a passion. He was a very, very hygienic person. But when it came to cleaning a house or keeping it clean, then Cathan was not someone you depend on for that. walking into his room was like walking into the city trash dump. Not very fun, eh?
His eyes glanced back down to his sketch book as he started shading a bit. Just out of boredom. Not that Kiki was boring or anything. Hell, there was never a dull moment with her around, but Cathan was not a conversation start at all. He said what he had to say and then shut up. That is unless you brought up another topic.
But there was the rare occasions that Kiara decided to give the boy like 3 monsters. Last time that happened, he wouldn't shut up for three straight hours. But lets not relive that dark day, eh? __________ word count: 434 Museless

drink up me 'earties, yo ho!
- - - - "Well! I'm glad to hear you're doing so great!" Kiara replied a bit sarcastically, following it up with another laugh. As she sat down, Kiki crossed her legs under her in that 'pretzel-style' or 'Indian-style' or whatever they call it nowadays. She folded her hands up in her lap and watched as the older boy beside he worked. "Hmm...you know, do you? Either we can say that you're very conceited, or you've got a lot of self-confidence. Though...being conceited could probably mean you do have a lot of self-confidence. But we both know that's not the case, it is?" she rambled teasingly. She was probably about the only person in the world that could get away with the amount of teasing she gave the poor boy. But it was okay—because he knew she loved him and meant it in the best way possible. Kiara just liked to talk and to tease. "One day, I shall crack the mystery. Don't you worry, Cathan," she said, decidedly finishing her little 'speech'.
The younger girl rolled her eyes at Cathan's next words, though a good-natured smile still played on her face. Because as if she could actually get mad at Cathan. And besides, she knew he was just teasing her back by correcting her English. "Yes, Mr. Chevalier," she replied in a mock-dull voice, as if she was in the middle of the most boring class ever. The acting only worked for a few moments before she broke into another short bout of giggling and laughing. She waited to speak again until he was actually done explaining his plans. "Well my broth-er," she began, emphasizing the 'er' part this time, "However very exciting that sounds, I think I'm gonna have to crash them and suggest something else." What he wanted to was, to her, a bit boring. Although he probably liked to spend all day drawing. Kiara needed to socialize with her best friend, however. "Besides, you can draw while we go out somewhere else. And get out of the damn cold," she added, extending out the word 'cold' so it sounded more like 'coooooold' for whatever reason—probably a dramatic effect or something.
"And there's plenty of other times to clean you room. Even though I know how much you love cleaning up that place. Its always so sparkl-y and clean." Kiara laughed again with a smirk on her face. "We should...I dunno..." she trailed off to think for a moment before completing her sentence, "We should go to the mall or a cafe or something! Sound cool?"

Are you okay? You look pretty low, very handsome, awkwardThe French boy shifted his eyes to look at Kiara when she started talking. "Hmm...you know, do you? Either we can say that you're very conceited, or you've got a lot of self-confidence. Though...being conceited could probably mean you do have a lot of self-confidence. But we both know that's not the case, it is?" Cathan let a small smile creep up on his face after she said that. "That shit make sense to you?" Cathan wasn't dumb, Kiki was just confusing. "You know, Kiara, Sometimes I think the world would be better off if you just didn't talk." Still, just joking to the girl. If she didn't talk, then Cathan wouldn't talk!
She then continued with her speech. "One day, I shall crack the mystery. Don't you worry, Cathan," Cathan looked at her again and shook his head. "Oooh, I can sleep good tonight knowing that!" sarcasm dripping from his voice. She answered him like a boring English teacher and Cathan smiled. "Good girl." his French accent thick on his words. He casted his eyes back down to the sketch and began to detail it, just waiting for the next interruption for Kiki. '5, 4, 3 , 2 1' Cathan counted down to the next interruption from his best friend.
She said she was going to crash Cathan's plans and he got a mock horror look in his face. "Oh shit." he said. He hoped she didn't take hims somewhere dumb, like she did last time. She took him to Chuck. E fucking Cheese's. Do you know what it's like for Cathan to be surrounded by a giant mouse who wanted to dance with him and screaming kids? Not very fun.
She told him he could draw somewhere where it wasn't cold and Cathan set his sketch pad back in his messenger bag and rolled his eyes at Kiki. "And exactly what did you have in mind, Mon amour?" Speaking the last part in French, even though she probably had no idea what it meant.
"And there's plenty of other times to clean you room. Even though I know how much you love cleaning up that place. Its always so sparkl-y and clean." Cathan snickered at her. "And there are no dust bunnies and dirty sicks under my bed either!" Being totally sarcastic. Cathan had to worst room in the history of bad rooms.
Was there like a book of dirty room records? You know, like the book of world records? If so, Cathan's room would be in that book. You couldn't even walk into the boy's room without getting tangled in a guitar cord or stepping on a CD.
"We should go to the mall or a cafe or something! Sound cool?" Cathan sighed. Great. Being around tons of people who expect Cathan to be all talkative and actually let then hit on him. He gave a sigh of defeat and nodded. "As long as you promise to not act normal." Normal, being her hyper self, which Cathan loved, but just not in the mall where she was all 'oooh! Lets go to this store!' And 'Bring me this in the next size down." Blah.

drink up me 'earties, yo ho !
- - - - Of course it made sense to her. Everything she said made sense. Well, so she thought. Kiara looked over, slightly confused by the older boy's words. Then realization brightened in her brown eyes. She's thought that her words had made sense. Then again, she really just said her thoughts outloud, no matter what they could be. Perhaps that did make her speeches a little confusing sometimes. "Oh...sorry?" she said, laughing, "It made perfect sense to me, though." The raven-haired girl paused for a moment to listen to what else the boy was trying to say. And when the words were out, she gave another little giggle. "You know that if I never talked again you would miss my beautiful voice," she stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world to point out to the boy.
"Although I have no idea what 'mon amore' mean, I'm going to assume that its something nice and that you didn't insult me," Kiara teased, sticking her tongue out a bit, sort of like a five-year-old child would do. She was sure that she'd probably heard Cathan use that before. However, she didn't know any French, and none of the phrases that he used often could ever seem to stick in her head. Whether that was because of the lack of knowing French already, or maybe just because her memory really sucked sometimes (it could really only seem to remember the most useless and random shit at the most useless and random times—therefore normally proving to be pointless). "But anyway!" she announced after another five seconds or so, "I really like the mall idea. I'll promise to make kids leave you alone. Or maybe Starbucks or something. That's always fun. Plus, they have great coffee." Which would probably make that option a flat-out no. Cathan probably knew better than to go to Starbucks with her and let her get a huge cup of coffee. Which, I can promise you—and I'm sure you all know—she would definitely do. And if you thought that Kiara was hyper and talkative now... Wait until you get to see her on a lot of caffeine.
Cathan normally didn't let her do that, though. Which kind of sucked. Because she loved coffee so much. Oh well, maybe she could go later or something, steal another one of her friends. That sounded like a good idea...
Kiara's thoughts were interrupted upon hearing her 'brother's voice again. Not act normal? The raven-haired girl put a little pout on her face for show. "That makes me sad. You don't like me for who I am?" she asked, pretending as if she'd been really hurt. She obviously knew that Cathan hated that hyper, girly 'Let's go to this store, ooh!' type of deal when they normally went down to the mall. But it wasn't her fault that there were clothes, was it? Lots and lots of pretty...really cool...amazing, clothes. Those stores were just evil and tempting, Cathan should tell them to not act normal instead. Which, Kiara knew, really wouldn't work. Nor did it make any sense. How was a store going to 'not act normal'? Besides, that would be sad if all her favorite stores suddenly changed the sorts of things that they sold. Then she'd have to try and find new favorite stores in this little town.
"I promise that I will act...relatively calmer than usual," Kiara finally replied, wiping the fake-pout off her face and replacing it with her normal smile. "Of course, if they have something super-duper amazing or anything, I can't promise I won't drag you in to buy it. But for the most-part, yes, I will behave myself." Because anyone knew, even if she wasn't really a girly-girl, she was still a girl at heart. And she loved shopping for clothes. They were just dark-colored clothes and not the slutty, preppy, frilly, weird things that other girls bought. Well, okay, sometimes some of the things she wore people liked to classify as 'slutty'. Maybe a mini-skirt or two. But c'mon! They were cute. And it wasn't as if she didn't have leggings or jeans under them (as if she would wear just a mini-skirt up here in the freezing weather). People were just assholes and liked to make fun of other people. Even if it didn't make any sense all the time.
Kiara brushed her hands through her hair and then looked back at her friend. "So, so, so we're going?" she asked, her voice rushed and excited. She uncurled her legs and bounced up back on her two feet again on the sidewalk. "C'mon! To the mall! And warmth!" Kiara called out, making her voice sound 'heroic' and causing a few of the adults watching their kids to turn her way and give her odd looks. Which was perfectly fine. She got them all the time.

Are you okay? You look pretty low, very handsome, awkward"You know that if I never talked again you would miss my beautiful voice," Cathan chuckled to himself as he threw the bag over his should. "Sure, I would." Cathan said, sarcastically. He really did love the girl, but he couldn't help but to be mean to her. But it was never in a mean way, if that makes any sense at all. Because that's how Cathan rolls, loser. "Although I have no idea what 'mon amore' mean, I'm going to assume that its something nice and that you didn't insult me," Cathan made a fake surprised face and put his hand on his hip. "Actually, no. I didn't insult you. It means my love. Which, isn't really that special, being I call everyone that." Cathan had a thng with calling every one Love or Babe. It was strange. Oh well. "I really like the mall idea. I'll promise to make kids leave you alone. Or maybe Starbucks or something. That's always fun. Plus, they have great coffee." As soon as he heard the word 'coffee' he nodded really fast. "Yeah! The mall sounds great! Actually, no, it doesn't. But anything to keep you away from coffee, ya' know?" Cathan said with a big smile. It was the truth. He would do anything to keep Kiki calm and not hyper. "That makes me sad. You don't like me for who I am?" Cathan shook his head. "Actually, I don't like you at all. You just wont quit following me, so I put up with it!" He said. Totally kidding.
He looked over to her and smiled. "I'm just kidding! Love ya!" His faint French accent was slightly stronger on his words. "I promise that I will act...relatively calmer than usual, of course, if they have something super-duper amazing or anything, I can't promise I won't drag you in to buy it. But for the most-part, yes, I will behave myself." Cathan nodded like he had accomplished something. "Okay, We can go, if you want." He said, huffing like he really didn't want to go. Which was the truth.
She said on to the mall in a heroic voice and Cathan laughed. "yes, Super K!"
