Carson Lee Void leaned against the column outside the movie theatre. Her hands were tucked in he pockets, and he eyes were closed. The pathetic humans were swarming around her. She was catching snatchs of there conversations. It was disgusting. They were all so horribly concieted and wrapped up in their own sorry lives. At the same time, she felt a strange jealousy towards them. Their lives were predicatable. They would grow up, get married, work in a job they'd likely hate, get old, and die. Carson sighed. If only her life was just as predictable.
Carson wasn't hungry, she had eaten just the other day, so the smell wasn't getting to her. She opened her eyes and saw some teenagers in line staring at her. She shivered. Carson hated being stared at. It was just creepy. She trudged over to a dirty bench outside the theatre and plopped herself down, narrowly avoiding sitting in some gum. The sky was all cloudy, which meant rain. Carson pulled her Volcom hoodie tighter around her slim frame. It seemed like it was getting colder.
A pout was pulled over Carson's face. She was in a bad mood. Her house was. a pigsty and her life was equally as messed up. She had found this place, and so far no one approached her. Carson really wanted a friend right about now. Someone who would understand. She wished for the millionth time that her big brother, Henry, was still with her. Henry, she guessed was in the Americas, hunting down his soul mate. And Carson was stuck here, alone and friendless.
A larger woman with a giant bag of popcorn squished beside Carson, her hips smooshing Carson into the side if the bench. It would have been comical if Carson hadn't been in such a bitchy mood. She hissed at the woman, who jumped up (spilling most of her popcorn) and waddled away, giving a frightened glance back.
Carson's pout was replaced with a smuge smile. Dispite what Henry always said, she could be frightning. Carson leaned back and closed her eyes.[/quoteblock]

Likely the most interesting development within the 21st century had to be the motion picture. There was suddenly a way to not only show what was happening in other places within the world, but fictionalized scenarios and stories that depicted things that once were only dreamed about. Things that another wished, that one secretly desired and yet still others were sickened by. It allowed an entirely new twist to the arts that never had been conceived before.
Since then it only seemed to get more and more technicial as time went on. New developments happened all of the time and society was more and more dependent upon such odd mechanisms.
It was a fascinating time to be alive. And to think if she had not managed to become what she was, she would have long since become one of those fossilized skeletons that were dug up every so often. Found in the midst of what was once considered normal. Their home and livelihood. Stuck in a time that was long since forgotten by the more modern era after it.
She was hunting that evening. Though it was not for food. She rarely was hungry. If she wanted something, it was never hard to take it and every victim that she took, she took some sustenance from. Why waste perfectly good blood just all about herself? It was not like she could absorb what was smeared upon her skin. Pity really.
No. She was hunting for something to interest her. A victim perhaps. One of the various sleezebags that were about on society. One of the women who sold themselves like merchandise on the street corner. Either would work. She had not had a toy in a week or so. It was far time that she took another.
Her outfit was designed to attract attention. The skirt was far too short, the fabric fitting tight against her youthful frame so that little was left to the imagination. She walked in heels that made her legs appear longer and placed a very obvious sway into her hips. Her hair was fashionably disheveled and her make up was carefully done. She looked almost like one of the women she preyed upon. Like the sort of girl a man she felt should be tortured would lust after. Lust was a powerful lure. Powerful weapon.
However, her plans for the evening were temporarily set aside when she noticed a familiar figure down the way. As old as Mesu was, it was never hard to tell who the others were she had seen at a younger age. The girl on the bench was merely a child compared with her, and if she remembered correctly, usually far more mild mannered than how she appeared.
How interesting.
She made her way forward, striding up behind the bench, past where the other girl was sitting. They were both frozen around the same age. Easily could have passed for the teenagers neither had been for some time. Her gray-blue eyes were watching the woman hobble her way off, though the other would be smarter than to think that Mesu's guard was down. She was not well known or all that well liked among even her own kind.
It never did stop her from interacting. "My, my doesn't something have your panties in a twist this night." Her voice was flat, cool and detached. The sort of alto tone that could send a chill with how emotionless it was. Few outside of the vampire world heard Mesu's true voice.
It only took a moment for her to completely switch personalities if she so chose. Such gullible creatures humans could be.

Carson sat there, her eyes closed for only a few seconds. She could smell something in the air that smelled so un-human, she had to sit up. She blinked her large green eyes, her vision was foggy for a few seconds. Then she heard a cold, detatched voice which seemed to be coming from the girl standing infront of her. My,My doesn't something have your panties in a twist tonight. Carson blinked at her. This girl obviously wasn't human. She looked around Carson's age, but her knowing eyes blew that cover. There was something about this girl that was making the humans avoid coming over to this side of the theatre.
I guess you could say that... Carson's quiet voice trailed off. She never was much of a people person. But, then again, she wasn't really what you'd think of as a person, and this girl probably wasn't a people. She laid her ivory hand in her lap, and stared out at the darkening sky. It was the most gorgeous thing she had ever seen. Though it was not as beautiful as it had been 150 years ago, it still captivated her. Nothing about this theatre looked beautiful to her critisising eye. The cement pavement was cracked, and there was gum stuck in it. Mice scampered across it. She realized that none of the people really cared. They were so wrapped up in the now, they had forgotten about the future. They would pollute this earth just because they didn't have to clean up after themselves.
Carson looked at the other girl again. Are you what I think you are? She asked, curious. This girl could help her. She needed to know why she was what she was.

Generally, one would think that someone would only not understand what they were if they had recently been turned. She had done that herself when first changed. Stayed near the one she had chosen to give her this immortal life so she could learn all that she could. Turned out he was one of the biggest bores in the world. Now he was some hot shot elder.
She had been a menace when she was younger. It was only worse now that she was as old as she was. And stronger than she could have been when she was a human. It was clear that she was a predator in that moment. One of the most dangerous types. She had very little regard for any life save her own. She could be swayed to a cause if it interested her enough, hince why she was helping with the mutt problem, but generally if it had no way to make Mesu happy, she would not do it.
She lifted a brow and turned her face toward the other girl. The youthful lines were flat and stoic. Her expression was as blank as her voice. "There are many ways I could answer that. Without knowing what is on your mind, it is a guess." Her shoulders shrugged and she leaned a hip against the back of the bench, letting her head turn again down the way.
It was not the best place to speak of such things in public. Her scent should have given her away. There was only one creature that smelled as they did. The mutts had a different musk and people were little more than walking heartbeats. Such music that was about the air as they walked pass. Slow and steady, then suddenly a quick flutter before the harder, fast beat that came past the adrenaline rush.
It was enough to make a girl swoon.

Carson folded her slender arms tight across her chest. She wanted to know exactly what she was, and why she was put on this world. Oh, she knew she was a vampire, she would have had to live in a can for the past hundred and fifty years to not know that. The humans walking around her were so deft. How could they not realize the supernatural, they had reworked their brains to turn even the craziest thing into a natural wonder. They were so ready to beleive any thing, so long as it had a scientific base. There are many ways of answering that question, without knowing what is on your mind, it is a guess. The girl leaned her hip on the side of the bench and shrugged. Her gaze traveled elsewhere. Carson thought she understood. This girl must have been a vampire, or she would have given Carson a very curious look. Either that, or she was just strange. But, Carson guessed, she was correct with the first one. The strange scent, the way she had seemed to make her way over to Carson, it all added up. Carson was extremly gifted at being able to put two and two together.
My name is Carson. Who are you? Opps. Carson knew she probably shouldn't have asked another general question, but she wasn't sure what she even really wantedto know. She tapped her shoe, red converse, on the tan pavement, and started to hum softly to herself. Sometimes she felt as is she were her own only friend.

It was the questions that everyone wanted to know the answer to. Why they were there, why they became what they did, what was the meaning of life. If any of those questions came to be asked, Mesu was likely to give an answer the woman was not be happy about. She was truly tempted to just say forty-two. She had little idea why anyone was there, nor she did care. She was here for herself. To stay alive as long as she could and kill as many of the seeds of society as she could on the way out of there.
This area of the town was a bit shady. Not nearly as bad as some she frequently, pretending to be a lost a frightened teenager. The ploy was so easy. What man did not have a few bad thoughts about school aged girls in little white panties? There was a reason that anime got a large following. She honestly had never seen something cater more to the wish men seemed to have to get a girl right before she was the newest legal age.
The wonders of the modern age.
Her name? It was a generic question yes, but it was one that was easier to give a direct answer to. Her eyes continued to move around slowly, still scanning for a potential victim, even as she spoke. "I am known as Mesu." It would seem that the people were not very interested in coming around at that point in time. Not anyone that was actually interesting.
She sighed softly and turned to look down at the other girl. "If you wish to speak, then we should find another place to do so." It was all that she said before she started off, swaggering her way toward the alleyway between the theater and the building next to it. These buildings usually had some way to get to the rooftop from the outside.
This one seemed no exception. A very typical fire escape was staring at her. They had two stories in some of the areas, making a need for a way to escape from the higher reaches. She walked back a few steps before dashing forward and leaping straight up for the escape's bars. It took one graceful pull to get her onto the first level of the fire escape.
It was an easy walk from there to one final leap to get from the highest point of the fire escape to the rooftop. As the other girl was thinking, people avoided looking in her direction. They did not like to think of anything that was odd or unusual. That could be supernatural. It worked out well to her advantage most of the time.
She moved to stand near the edge of the roof, resuming her watch of the street below. The woman would either join her or stay where she was. The glow of the lights was less from the rooftop than it was down on the street.

Carson sat and listened as the girl told her her name and that they had to find a better place to talk. She watched, unmoving as the girl jumped up the fire escape. Carson gritted her teeth and touched her face with her cold hands. She was worried about the true intentions of this other female. Mesu seemed to only care for herself. And why couldn't she just dispose of Carson? Overall, Carson wanted nothing better than to stay with both feet planted firmly on the cemented ground. But, she reasoned with herself, what was the point of worry if you weren't exactly living? What was the point of living if you were living in hell? It was all too much. When she had been a human her veiws on life had been much more simple. Ever since that tragic decision all those years ago, she could not take a step toward without having to choose from a far too complex right and wrong. It was just enough to make her break. She had a completely different view on this whole ordeal than most Vampires, she did not like being immortal, ohhh no. She would do anything at all to become a human, a mortal, to live a carefree life. To look around and see the gorgeous sky, the tall oak trees, the warm hand in hers, which would have belonged to Mr. Perfect, of course. This brought her to another point. How would she ever find love as a cold deamon? She would rather be with a human than her kind. She remembered that man she loved as a human, the one she was forbiddin to see, as she had a pre-arranged marrige. He had been tall, with dark hair, and violet eyes. She scrunched up her face and tried to recall his name. Russell Mourn. He was cute and funny, very studious and kind. She suddenly had a very human-like longing for him, something she had not felt since she was turned. Since she was turned all her thoughts were focused on what she was, but now she finally realized that she did not want to know. She wanted this nightmare to end, and if she knew what she was, would it really just turn into a dream? She was going to act as human as she possibly could for adlong as she could. It would take effort, but she knew it was her destiny. She was never meant to become what she was, it had been a fatal mistake on her own part. But there's more to life than living, she thought.
That is why Carson Lee Void, the mistake of a Vampire, did not follow Mesu onto the roof. She took a swift glance up to where she guessed Mesu was sitting, and she promptly hurried into the theatre, successfully blending in. She was going to act as human as possible to fill that void in this half-life she was living. It was more like a memory of a life, which she had been clinging to all these years. She was now unafraid of death. Unafraid of love. Unafraid of life, which seemed to her the most frightening.
_______________________ Ooc: sorry, but I had to start a story for her. She didn't follow Mesu, which begins her journey. XD
