It was perhaps the greatest cliche to be browsing around in the terminal ward of the hospital for a meal, but the blond did not wish to actually hunt at that moment. To take the edge off, he preferred a meal that was nearly gone. The least amount of effort involved within it. There was something enjoyable and morbid about haunting the halls of the condemned as Death himself.
It was likely not the hunt that the petite woman who had been stalking him since he left Shi Falls would have expected. This hour had very little staff at the hospital. It was not hard to sneak in, to plan movement so that it would be easy to avoid any detection by the humans. After all people died in the terminal ward with little explanation all of the time. They were terminal.
There was not a chance for a vampire to get the diseases that took away people. He lived through the time of the Bubonic Plague well enough to know that. The people dying from that however were far too rancid to feed off of. Though the dead and dying had been around the streets with little trouble. He was still around now and it would have been hard to avoid drinking from someone that had not been exposed to the deadly bacteria.
This was the one place in the clean and pristine hospital that often was left unattended. These people were going to be dying. They did keep them well drugged yes, and try to keep them comfortable, but why pay attention to intervene upon what was going to come naturally.
He stood at the foot of a woman's bed, idly glancing over the clipboard hanging at the end of it. Pancreatic cancer. They said it was a pretty damn bad way to go. Painful. There was another woman in the room, younger than the one before him. Hell she barely looked older than Brietta physically did. No hair on her head. Yet another cancer patient.
Such an interesting disease cancer. Something that suggested the chemicals they loved so much were actually out there to kill them all in the end. Shorten the great lives they could do. Most women had barely lived into their twenties in his age. Men were lucky to make forty. Now it was normal for people to reach over a hundred.
Neither of these two were going to find themselves at that age.
He glanced around the room with its beige walls, curtains out of the seventies and the uninteresting furniture floating around the room. It was all stale and cold. Sterile as anyone would expect a hospital now to be. He could remember what the early ones looked like. Full of death, cries, the smell of offal and decay. Truly a place that no one would want to die, even if many would not wish to be around this place when their final days came to be.
He set the chart down and turned to his younger companion, wondering if she was going to complain about their chosen location for hunting or if she would find the irony within it as he was. If she was not keen upon this, he was alright with changing plans. Though there was something very fun about drinking through the IV tubing. It was almost like a straw just waiting to be used.

Blue eyes scanned the scenery that quickly flashed by the vampire princess as she followed Nik into a building that the human called the hospital. "What are we doooing?~" She asked Nik in a sing song voice. She thought they were supposed to go hunting...But no, they were at the hospital. As soon as she walked in, the clean, antiseptic smell of the hospital made her sneeze. Her senses were more keen then any humans so a new smell would make her sneeze, or at least wrinkle her nose in disgust. She followed Nik, skipping behind him. Her Teddy bear hanging loosely from her hand, talking to him every so often. People were beginning to think that she had escaped from the mental ward. What?! They had never seen an eighteen year old skip around in lolita dresses and talk to teddy bears?! Well, okay, so it wasn't that normal of an occurrence and Brietta wasn't really eighteen. That was just her physical age.
She skipped around, head held up as if these people thought she was important. In the human world, they just thought she was a lunatic whereas, the vampire world held respect for her. They new she would have their head mounted on the wall if they disrespected or hurt her in any way. While she was skipping towards the elevator, she looked down at her plaid shoes. They were brand new, plaid ballet flats that her daddy had bought for her. Brietta was in a rather plaid mood, explaining her choice of apparel today.
She is in a lolita punk type dress. It looked as if she was wearing a plaid skirt and a white button up shirt, equipped with a tie. Her hair was pulled back with two ribbons and a bow was placed in her blonde hair. She had on a pair of plaid knee-highs and her plaid shoes. She knew she looked good. They got in the elevator and Brietta was still wondering what the hell they were doing, but she kept her silence. She knew that Nik knew what he was doing, so she didn't inquire to know again.
Once they were up at the terminal ward, she knew what was going on. Brietta wasn't dumb, she had a life time of knowledge, but she just didn't show it. She just acted clueless all the time, making people wonder if she was suitable to take the throne when her daddy died or handed it to her. whichever came first. The halls of this floor just gave off bad vibes. It sent a chill down Brietta. In Shi falls, it was normal for bad vibes to be around, but for some reason, millions of people, dying slowly around you didn't give you a happy feeling.
Brietta did get joy from killing people, but not the pathetic humans wallowing in their pain. Why didn't the dumb nurses just put them out of their pain and misery so they normal people didn't have to deal with them. The crept into a patients room and Brietta looked at Nik. Waiting for him to make the first move. Words: To lazy to check. Outfit: ClickehNotes: Sorry it sucks. And if it has any spelling errors or something doesn't make sense, ignore it xD I'm half asleep xD

Alucard needed to get a feeding in, but he didn't really want to go through all the work of hunting something that had a lot of ability to fight back, thought it would have been a lot of fun to have an actual hunt, but he decided to be lazy and go down to the local hospital's terminal ward. He was wearing a tight black t-shirt, tight jeans, and a large coat. Under the coat, over the shirt, could be seen the strap that went to the short blade on his back, about as long as his forearm.
The walk down to the place was boring, very boring, and when he got there he wandered up to the terminal ward and started a routine that he had gained where he started at the list of patients and looked at the list, choosing his target based off of a list of criteria that he always tried to fill when he went out feeding, age and blood type. He had an affinity to girls with a blood type of B negative. He was lucky today, there was one that was entered recently, and she wasn’t going to die for at least a week, and in this wing, that was still very healthy.
He walked down the hall towards the room that was suppose to hold the girl and ended up passing a few patients that watched him, and they all had the same look on their face that they accepted that within about a week they weren’t going to be here anymore, some of them didn’t look too bad, but all of them had that look. This started to make him think about death himself. He had had plenty of time to think about it over his years, far more than any of these poor souls did, but they had seemed to come to accept it, when he hadn’t at all. He thought that this might have to do with the fact that they were face to face with death, and he was more like Death’s friend that he has, for now at least, cheated out of his soul. Alucard was about to give the reaper another soul though, among the thousands of others that he had already given to Death.
He looked back around and saw, coming the other way up the hallway, Brietta and Nikolaos, both of which demanded respect from Alucard. Nikolaos actually had more of Alucard’s respect than Brietta and that was because he was one of the few living vampire’s who was actually capable of winning against him in a fencing match, and also was twice Alucard’s age.
As they came up to him he took a slight bow, “Nikolaos, I didn’t expect to see you at a place like this, nor Brietta. How are you?” he said to Nikolaos after looking at Brietta. He had a slight crush on the girl, which was easy to expect as she was very cute.

It was not truly hunting yes. But when hunger started to hit him, it was often hard to think straight. He went longer than most before he actually fed, pushing it further and further each time. Anything to make himself more of a threat and more of a warrior out of habit. Even in his mortal life he had pushed himself so he could figure out when he simply could not go any further.
So far he was pushing the better part of a year before he really needed to feed. How long exactly he could not remember, but it may have been the hunger coming.
When Brietta had questioned what they were doing there, he merely glanced over his shoulder and lifted up an eyebrow. He almost had expected her to stop following the instant he came near the aseptic walls of the building. The scent was bothersome. Stale, clean. Many scents still below it. He kept walking, knowing that she would follow regardless, until they were within the room.
He took a slow breath in and closed his eyes before he spoke. "There are days I often need remind myself what could have been." Cancer was not a very typical killer when he had been alive, but he would have died much younger than the woman who's bed he was at the base of. "What I escaped." When his eyes opened again they were red. All but glowing with his hunger.
"When you need to take the edge off, dear girl, the less effort the better." He walked over to the side of the woman's bed, letting his fingers touch over the plastic tubing there. He ran his fingers up to the plastic roller and tightened it down so that the flow was turned off. These never were one piece. Down a foot from where he had clamped the line off, he found what he looked for. One good twist and the fluids that had been going into the woman were dripping out onto the ground and her blood slowly filled the line.
"They create straws, even for us." His deep voice had been in a whisper the whole time, but not as soft as it was then. His eyes stayed on the tube until the clear fluid had fallen out of the tube. Before the first drop of blood was to fall, he set the edge of the tube between his lips and started to draw out the blood carefully. There was a trick to using tubes. Even if the tube themselves did not often collapse, a vein could if something pulled too hard on it.
He had a way of handling the tubing so it did not take long for him to drain the woman of her life, sating the stronger part of his hunger so he could hunt without his stomach getting in the way.
He took a deep breath and sighed. "We shall truly go hunting now if you wish." Whatever Brietta had done, he had not paid much heed. His eyes were again normal and he walked from the woman's bedside, pulling the edges of his long coat closer about his body.
Outside of the room he paused and turned to find Alucard walking toward them. He felt as surprised as the other man did. It would seem that the irony of being upon this floor was not only wasted upon him. He inclined his head in respect, not nearly as large of a bow as he had been given, but it meant something. Nikolaos rarely associated with anyone if he did not feel like it, or was not forced. The other man was one of the better warriors, still skilled in many ancient weapons, which alone was cause for the elder to give respect.
"I fair well, Alucard. Yourself?" He had not actually noticed the attractiveness of the girl who had decided to follow him about that night. Though he did notice how the other man's gaze lingered a moment upon her before it turned to him. Whatever Brietta did or did not due however was not his business, so he never bothered to pry. Blue pools danced around the building. Scanning, looking for anyone who was following them. Brietta didn't want any road blocks on this "hunting" trip. If you could call it hunting. To Brietta, hunting was whenever you stalked a human or animal for it's blood. But there was nothing wrong with this, Brietta really didn't want to hunt, she wanted to eat. She hadn't eaten in a while, ever since she had that run in with the stupid werewolf.
Teddy was clenched in her hand whenever Nik took his turn. Brietta looked outside of the room and saw a familiar face. Alucard, she thought. She was pretty sure that she knew all the names of the people in her fathers kingdom. She was going to be queen one day and she had to know her subjects. So it was fitting that she knew who he was. To be honest, she thought the boy to be quite cute, but Brietta didn't plan on settling down any time soon. Commitment was not Brietta's thing. She was much like her dad. The only relationships she got into were one night stands. She would whore them, and then off she would go to the next waiting guy. And if Alucard was willing, he just might be the next.
When Nik's patient was drained of life, Brietta walked over to her patient and looked down at her. She was not much older then Brietta, in appearance however. She was merely seventeen in her looks, but she was over one hundred in actuality. She looked down at the girl, a smirk spread over her lips. "Mmm, You'll feel so much better dead. I promise." Brietta really didn't care about the girls pain. She repeated the process that Nik did, and was soon full.
Wiping her mouth, she walked back over to Nik, who was now talking to Alucard. "Hey!" She squeaked in her high pitched child like voice. Her voice never left that tone. She was naturally a child at heart. The half human girl tilted her head and asked a question. "What 'cha doing her?" she asked.

Alucard smiled slightly to Nikolaos as he was asked how he was. He didnt' really expect to get too much respect from that vampire, but that was mostly due to the fact that the man was far older than him and most likely far more skilled. "I am also well." he said with his hands behind his back and his voice showing his respect for him as well as his posture. He looked over at Brietta as she got back to them and seemed happy as usual. That was one of the things that attracted him to her, though he knew that she was the type of girl to go through guys for one reason, and that reason was the main one why he had never really approached her. "Hello Brietta" he said to her with a smile that was rather charming. "I am here because i was about to go werewolf hunting, aka my job, and decided to get a "drink" first." That was the reason that he had designed to hide why he was really here.
The reason that he had come to this wretched place was because he was ordered to, and as much as he loathed the old king, he still respected his orders so he wouldn't have his head put on the list of people who are ordered to be killed on sight. The king to Alucard was a vampire who had lost touch with how the world really works, and one day, though not likely very soon, Alucard planed to give him one big reality check. He knew that that day would most likely have to happen near the time when he would give up his power to his daughter.

It was an interesting thought to think that he'd look down upon another because they were not as old or skilled as he was. If that was such a case, why would he be around Brietta, even if she was the daughter of their King? Nikolaos usually stayed far from the masses, but whenever he was around another vampire who was loyal to the King, he had never once turned his back on another who needed it. He was perhaps not as evil as the vampires whom Teneberes generally kept close to him, but he did not shy away at duties that required torture or death. He was above all else, a good soldier.
So he could respect another solider for having the same traits that he had always enjoyed in himself. Weapons had always been a love of the blond vampire's. It was rare to find anyone who actually knew how to fence, yet alone wield a sword in a manner that hadn't been put on some bad television show. That demanded respect in and of itself.
He glanced at Brietta when she joined the two of them, glancing back briefly to see that both women were now deceased. He quietly excused himself to go and reconnect the IV lines and set the fluids running again. Even if both were dead, it would at least not incriminate the two of them come the morning when they were found.
He felt far better than he had when he left the Castle. The thought of going out for a good hunt was tempting. He returned to where the other two were standing. "Would you perhaps care for some company on this venture of yours, or would it be best if you handled this alone?" He gave the option. Some days if one had a specific target, it was much easier to work alone than it was with another. It all depended on the intended target and just what was necessary to get out of them. Having back up was not always a bad thing. Nik could admit that he could not always handle things completely on his own. Why should everyone else be expected to do the same?
