with a secret no one knew "Once upon a time there was someone just like you, who lived without a care in the world. Just a regular girl with a secret no one knew, or so the story goes," came the soft singing from Kat's lips as she skipped out of her house, earbuds that were connected to her purple iPod firmly in place in her ears. A shout followed her out the door, and she winced as she closed the door. "Fuck you too," she breathed as the door was firmly shut behind her, her eyes rolling. Life at home was...hard to say the least. She hated it with a passion, that was for sure. She couldn't stand her mother, if you could call her that. She knew that mothers were supposed to be loving, and understanding. But if they were, why did her own beat her and blame her for things that were not her fault. She didn't know, but that was how it happened. With a sigh, she glanced down at her arms, to make sure none of her bruises were showing, and saw the edge of one poking out from underneath her shirt sleeve. Looking around, she pulled it down to cover it. She didn't want anyone to know what her mother did to her. Only one person knew, and that was only because he had seen one of her bruises, and didn't believe her excuse. That person was her best friend, Cathan. And someone that she liked a bit more than she ought to, she knew.
Brushing back her black and white-blond bangs that fell over her green-gray eyes, she inspected the land around her, Set it Off's music still blasting in her ears. Just wanting to get out of her house, and away from it all, she skipped down the road, heading for town, a hum coming from her throat as she headed that way. Her mother was, once again, blaming her for their father. The one who would be, should he still be alive, celebrating his forty-sixth birthday. So of course her mother would be complaining upon this day. But she didn't have to be such a bitch and blaming her daughter on it all. Or beating her, for that matter. It just wasn’t right, and Kat knew it. Although she hadn’t when her mother had simply blamed her for her father falling to drinking. She had thought it normal back in those days, although it wasn’t, and had simply gone on, believing her mother was right, and that it was normal for such a thing to happen. However, she knew better now. She knew that it wasn’t a generally accepted idea to physically abuse their daughter, or any child, really. She knew that she should probably tell someone, tell the police. But she didn’t. She couldn’t. Kat knew that her mother would be even more pissed at her, and beat her more when the woman had the chance. Not to mention, she wouldn’t know where she could go. Sure, her grandparents lived in the same country, at least, although they hadn’t before her father died, but she didn’t want to leave this place. She didn’t want to leave her friends. Especially not Cathan, the one person that knew everything. And the one person she thought she couldn’t live without.
Upon arriving in the town, she glanced around, not knowing what she wanted to do, where she wanted to go. There were several things she could easily do, should she wish to. However, she currently had no idea what she wanted to do, and so she set off down the main road, looking about her in search of something to do. Kat’s eyes flicked about in search of something interesting to do, her legs taking her along side streets and up alleyways in search of something to occupy her time, something that would keep her away from home for a good while, and a long enough time to make her happy, at least. Although, she knew her mother wouldn’t be particularly glad about it. Oh well. Her mother could deal.
Her walk took her through the park, one of her usual haunts, but nothing here held Kat’s interest. Not even the swings, which had to be one of her favorite places, definitely. She loved the swings with a passion, and had oh so much fun on them. It was one of the closest things to flying in the air without a metal machine around you. Sky diving being another one of those things, along with a few others. And there was always that period of zero gravity one could achieve on the swings when one got enough height and power. It was always exhilarating; that one moment where you weren’t moving at all...you were just hanging in the air. That one millisecond you were still, before gravity remembered its job and pulled you back down. It was definitely one thing that Kat loved about the swings. But today...today she simply didn’t feel like swinging. A shocker, it was true.
With another sigh, Kat exited the park, her legs taking her past the town and into the outskirts of the area, venturing nearer to the forest than many thought was safe. Then again, anything outside of the town was thought unsafe by a majority of the people there, what with all the disappearances that often occurred about the dark greenery of the forest. But Kat just shrugged it off. She found no threat in the leafy foliage. Then again, she hadn’t gone farther than the edge of the place, she had no reason to. She stuck to the edge, and that was that. But she wasn’t going into the forest. Not today. Not even to the fringe. Well, not unless you called the graveyard the fringe, which Kat didn’t.
She didn’t know exactly why she had decided to come to the graveyard, but sometimes she did, just to look at the words written on the various headstones, interested in the stories they told about the person buried beneath them, although they weren’t always exactly beneath them. Sometimes the headstones were just there, signifying that the body was buried in the place. But some were indeed located underneath their headstone, but you couldn’t tell without digging the earth up to find out. Even then, it might just be luck that someone was buried beneath them, but it didn’t make it the person the headstone proclaimed it might be. Sometimes, it could just be a game of luck.
”The rain is beating down on the kid’s playground, as the lights go up and the chalk hits the board, my mind is senseless, my instincts secuureee,~” Kat sang out as she passed through the gates of the cemetery, twirling around slightly. Most people would probably think her weird in general, without the fact that she was visiting the graveyard for sheer pleasure, and not to visit anybody that was buried beneath its grassy surface. This just added to that generally thought fact, but Kat didn’t care. She was bored, and she wanted to get away from her house. Singing along to the song, she wandered through the various headstones, stopping at some to see what it said about the person. She wondered how many of them said true things about the person, and how many might be falsehoods about the person. ”Really, who the fuck cares about dead people?” she inquired out loud, rolling her eyes at one headstone in particular, sporting a stupid epitaph. ”I mean...they’re dead. Who cares how they died? Stupid headstone should just have the name and the period of living, not some stupid crap about them,” she grumbled as she listened to Cody Carson’s voice in her hear. God, people were stupid. Puck was right in his saying “Lord, what fools these mortals be.” Then again, that just could be her loving Shakespeare once more. She was an odd kid, that was for sure.

So will you scatter my ashes where they wont be found?
So, Cathan was aggravated with the world. Why? Well, there were many reasons that the blue eyed boy was aggravated to the point of tears. First he couldn't leave his room without being made fun of by Jack, his step dad, He was very confused about life, About his school, and about his sexual orientation. You wouldn't think that would be straining. But Cathan found himself staring at a guys ass today, almost drooling. Cathan had tried to tell himself that he was straight but he kept finding himself being attracted to guys. God knows that if he ever came out of the closet, he would be dead. Yeah, his step dad would kill him.
Now, Cathan wasn't a morning person, so until he was forced to do something, he would stay curled up in his bed. He grunted when his mom's husky, Chloe jumped onto his stomach. With a big push, he sent the dog into the floor. Chloe got the idea that he was playing and jumped right back onto of him."Bitch." He muttered and turned around to go to sleep. But Chloe wouldn't have that. She whined in his ear a few times, until he turned over to push her off again. But before he could push her, Chloe jumped off and grabbed Cathan's blanket. Cathan hopped up to get it back but Chloe was already in the kitchen. She was pawing the cabinet under the sink. Chloe opened it up and grabbed her food out of it. He sleepily walked over to her bowl and filled it up, along with putting fresh water in her bowl. Chloe panted happily and began to eat. Now that his good deed of the day was done, He grabbed his blanket and walked back over to the his bed.
He heard his step-dad yell something along the lines 'Get your ass out of the bed, Cathy.' Cathy was Jack's nickname for Cathan because he always said that Cathan was a girl. After laying in silence fro a minute or two, he got up and walked back into his room. He plugged his hair straightener up and let it heat up while he found some clothes. He pulled out a shirt that said 'Pikachu!' with Pikachu on it. He then pulled out a pair of skinny jeans, probably meant for a girl and pulled them on. he grabbed his 'Misfits' hoodies and his vans and ran back into the living room. He slid his vans on an pulled his hoodie on, only zipping it half way.
He ran some eyeliner on and then started straightening his hair. When It was all smooth and shiny, he pulled a plain black beanie on. He slipped on a pair of black socks and then his black and yellow vans. Now that he was all pretty, he started out the back door so he didn't have to deal with his step-dad. He wasn't sure where he was going, but he knew he was going somewhere. He walked past the park but it didn't look all that inviting.
That really wasn't strange for the emo boy. He normally didn't like being around people. Well, everyone but two important people. Kiara and Kat. His two K's. There were his best friends ever. the two he could count on. And though they were both loud and annoying, he told them everything. Well, everything except for the fact he thought he was bi. Kat was bi-curious and Cathan knew it but it was just too strange for Cathan to put out in the open. He was wrapped up in his thought whenever he heard a familiar voice.
"Really, who the fuck cares about dead people. I mean...they're dead. Who cares how they died? Stupid headstone should just have the name and the period of living, not some stupid crap about them." Cathan laughed and walked into the cemetery, sneaking up behind Kat and wrapping his arms around her. Normal people would think that they were a couple by the way Cathan was always hugging her or holding her hand, but he was just a really, really, really good friend.
"Why is it bothering, Kat?" He asked in a soft voice while sniffling, Silly little things bothered her. It confused Cathan to no end.

you think you hear the truth but the lies keep creeping in The world these days was a horrid thing. People were verbally abused all the time without consequence. People were discriminated against for color, gender, and sexual preferences. It was all a stupid thing. She was often discriminated herself because she was a girl. People thought she was a frail little thing that couldn't do anything by herself. Anything that you needed an ounce of strength to do, people thought she couldn't do it, just because she was a female, because she supposedly hadn't any strength of her own. It was all extremely stupid. Sure, she wasn't the strongest person on the earth, but she had some strength of her own. She wasn't a frail little girl who had to rely on a guy to do everything for her. In fact, she pretty much hated that prejudice against the female gender. It ticked her off to no end.
What was worse, perhaps, was the discrimination against sexual preferences. The churches she could understand a little bit, she understood where they came from. But those that didn't go to church and didn't believe in it still discriminated against it, and that really annoyed her. Not to mention how the words 'gay' and 'fag' fit so easily into modern culture. How something was 'gay' and how a specific style made someone 'gay'. It was extremely annoying. Kat herself wasn't gay, she wasn't lesbian, but she admitted to herself that she was bi-curious. She was somewhat interested in other females, although she wasn't completely sure of it. Kat admitted it to herself and to her friends. But like hell was she going to tell her mother. It would only be more ammunition for the woman, more to blame Kat for. But if only Kat had a way to find out if she was bi or not. She knew that she wasn't straight out homosexual, unless she was soon to discover her best friend, someone that she had a crush on, was actually a girl. Even then, she didn't think she could help but be attracted to males.
But how people constantly used the word 'gay' in everyday life. How something was gay because someone thought it stupid. Annoyed her to no end, it was true. Even worse, was how people said that some people had to be gay because of how they dressed. How guys that wore girl jeans just had to be gay. Why else would they wear girl pants? Did they ever think that it was simply more comfortable to them? And the whole 'emo' thing. So many people thought that guys that straightened their hair just had to be gay because of that. It was all a load of bullshit in Kat's eyes. Cathan was like that, and he wasn't gay. At least, she didn't think he was. She was pretty sure that he would tell her if he was gay. Then again, he might think she'd hate him if he was and didn't tell her, or he could be confused. She didn't know of him questioning his sexuality, but that was beside the point. His clothing style was his clothing style, and people just called it a gay way of dressing for no reason, and it pissed her off beyond reason.
Kat sighed as she thought about these things, her converses scuffing against the pavement as she walked, sending some rocks scattering before her as she trudged along. She wished that everybody could just get along, and not care about such things. It didn't matter a person's color, gender, or sexuality. They were all people stuck in this world to live together. Why couldn't they just be peaceful? Why couldn't they just accept people for who they were? It would definitely keep the death rate down, that was for sure. That's how a lot of fighting and wars started. One discrimination and attempt at exterminating something led to wars. That was part of how World War II started; Hitler discriminated against the Jews, thought them a lesser people and attempted to be rid of a lot of them. And then what happened? A lot of people died for no d**ned reason.
Kat had been somewhat dancing around the cemetery as she sang along, but had stopped when she stopped singing to make her annoyed exclamation about the stupid epitaph. No sooner had she made her proclamation when two arms wrapped around her. She yelped in surprise and wriggled around, attempting to crane her neck in a failed attempt to see who the heck had grabbed her. As she heard a soft voice, she squealed again, this time in happiness. "Cathan!" she exclaimed brightly with a grin, her cheeks heating up slightly as she registered the fact that it was Cathan with his arms around her. They had done such before, and people mistook them for a couple, but the action never failed to bring a blush to her cheeks. One she constantly attempted to get rid of. Hopefully, though, he would only think the blush was due to the slight chill in the air or something. She would die if he ever figured out her feelings for him. Especially if he didn't feel the same.
"It just seems pointless to write crap on a headstone besides their name and period of living. Why the hell would anyone else care about their life? I mean...I guess family would, but besides them, seriously." She knew only the silliest things bothered her, and knew that Cathan often thought her silly for letting such things bother her, but she couldn't help it, it was how she was. And if people didn't like it, then that was their fault, now wasn't it? A light sigh escaped her lips as she leaned her head back, resting it on his shoulder so that now she was looking up at him. Why hadn't she thought of doing that before, when she didn't know it was him? Ah well. "My mom's being a bitch.." she muttered to him, knowing he would understand what she meant by that. And he was one of the only ones. She made sure of that. "Dad's death day...she's being bitchier than the norm."

Bite the lip, just forget the bleeding
Cathan chuckled when she squealed in surprise. "Calm down, child." Cathan said, about to let go of her, until she figured out it was him. She squealed his name and Cathan chuckled. "Hey, Kat." He said, trying his best to seem happy, even though he wasn't. Cathan hadn't been really happy in forever. He hadn't been able to really laugh or smile in what seemed like months. And Cathan wasn't one to pull the whole "I'm so depressed and emo" act so he kept it to himself. Not wanting to bother Kat and Kiara. They had enough shit to deal with on their own. Kat laid her head on shoulder and looked up at him. Cathan un wrapped his arms from around her and then re-attached them around her stomach.
"It just seems pointless to write crap on a headstone besides their name and period of living. Why the hell would anyone else care about their life? I mean...I guess family would, but besides them, seriously." Kat said. "You're so weird." Cathan chuckled. "But, I guess that's why I love you." Cathan said with a slight smile. She said her mother was being a bitch and that faint smile washed off his face. "I'm so sorry, Kat, I wish there was something I could do."
What could he do? Nothing really. But he knew that he would be there if Kat ever needed a place to stay for a little bit or even if she needed something as simple as a hug. Cathan would always be there. He was the type of guy who would stand on the corner with a 'free hugs' sign if it made people happy. and of course, if he wasn't so painfully shy. Cathan hated his shyness. But it's something he just couldn't seem to get over. "Dad's death day...she's being bitchier than the norm." Cathan shook his head. It wasn't right for her mother to treat her this way and to blame her for everything that went on in the house. Cathan didn't say anything. He just kept his arms around Kat. He liked this position very, very much. Yeah, there was no hiding that he had a crush on Kat but he would die if she ever found out.
Cathan didn't think she liked him the same way. Though it might have been obvious to anyone else, but Cathan had no earthly idea. He unwrapped his arms from around her and plopped down on the ground. It was super cold outside and Kat was being dumb and not wearing a jacket of any kind. Cathan slipped his hoodie off and threw it at Kat. "think fast!" He exclaimed before he threw it. "How many times have I told you to not be stupid and get sick in the cold, Kat?" Cathan asked. He was so much like a mother bear, it wasn't even funny. He was very protective of his friends. It was something he really couldn't help. He was really protective of Annie more then anyone else when she was alive.
Though, Cathan didn't think she was dead. He didn't know why he felt that way, but it was something in his head telling him that she was alive. And Cathan couldn't help but to believe it, Even if his mom and Jack didn't. That wasn't saying much though. They always gave up to easy.
It used to not be that way though. Cathan's mom was optimistic and happy all the time, then she met Jack. She thought Cathan needed a father figure in his life. Cathan was perfectly fine. Or so he thought. He knew his dad loved him, even thought he never met him because he was killed on the way to the hospital when Cathan was born.
But when Jack came into Cathan's life, everything went wrong. His mom wasn't happy anymore. and that killed Cathan inside. She would say that she was happy but that light in her eyes was gone. It took Cathan a while to figure out why she wasn't happy anymore.
Jack wasn't abusive to her or Cathan, but the way he hurt Cathan's mother was so much worse. He didn't love her. He could see that his mother was crazy in love with him, but he never returned the love.
Cathan snapped out of his daze and looked around the graveyard, almost falling asleep. With a yawn, he crossed his chest and sat there, waiting on Kat to say or do something.

'cause you can never see the lies behind those eyes Kat didn’t know the reason her mother beat her. Well, she knew the reason her mother gave her; because her father was dead and it was all her damn fault. But there had to be more motivation behind it all, behind the bruises and black eyes. The given explanation wasn’t good enough for her; she wanted to know why exactly her mother did what she did. Why her mother was so horrible to her. Sure, she had attempted to extract that information from the woman before, but that plan had never succeeded. Her mother said the same thing every time; gave the same reason. And Kat hated it. She hated that with a passion. She wanted to know why the hell her mother, the person who had fucking given birth to her, treated her as such. Treated her as if she were but a piece of trash and nothing more. Like she wasn’t worth a thing. She deserved a reason, but she was never given one.
She wriggled, attempting to free herself from the person’s grasp around her. Having been physically injured many times before, she didn’t trust a lot of people with touching her, but she settled as the information that it was Cathan was revealed. ”But what if I don’t want to?” She inquired with a grin, teasing. ”’Sides, I’m not a child,” she pouted, sticking her bottom lip out as she looked at him, all doe eyes and innocence. As he greeted her, she bit her lip, worried. Something about him just seemed....off, and she didn’t know what. But she knew better than to bring it up with him; he would simply brush it off, say it was nothing and then pointedly ignore her curiosity of what was different with him. He would ignore her constant inquiries, changing the topic quickly, so she didn’t say a word, but she was worried for her best friend.
”Gee, thanks,” Kat replied, sticking her tongue out at her friend, grinning shortly after she retracted the muscle. She knew that he was only playing around with her, and she didn’t take offence at his calling her weird. It was a normal occurrence, in any case. ”Well, duh, of course. Who doesn’t love me?” She demanded with a grin, trying to hide the fact that her cheeks warmed slightly, and an odd sensation had just been felt in her stomach. Trying to hide the fact that she liked him as a guy, and not just as her best friend. Trying to hide her crush. And she thought she was succeeding fairly well, although from the outside, it was pretty obvious.
Kat sighed lightly, staring up at the sky above. ”It’s okay....and I’m fine. You’re here to support me through this shit, and that’s enough for me,” she told him sincerely. She was just glad she had someone to lean on while her mother was being a bitch to her. Cathan was always there for her, calming her down when she cried about it, hugging her when she was just depressed about it all, just always being there, and offering his friendship to her. Helping her through the tough times. And she was glad she had someone like him to do such things. She didn’t think she could have a better friend than him, she honestly didn’t. She smiled up at him, trying to hide the sadness that her eyes held from him.
She was, in truth, quite a selfless person. She cared more for the people around her than she cared for herself, and put their happiness before her own. Kat just wanted Cathan to be happy, and didn’t want to show the hurt that she felt because of her mother, for she knew if she did, Cathan would worry, and be sad, and she didn’t want that. Another sigh escaped between her lips, this one holding a slight air of contentment. Although she would try to deny it, she found the position that the two friends were in quite comfortable. For more than one reason. As a light blush reached her cheeks, she honestly hoped that he would only think it was from the cold air about them, and not suspect what the pink tinge was really from. She felt comfortable in his arms, his body pressed slightly against her own slender frame.
But he didn’t return her feelings. Such was Kat’s thoughts, in any case. And she would honestly be devastated if he, or even anyone else, figured that she had feelings for the boy. She thought she was doing a pretty damn good job of hiding her feelings from the world, keeping them locked within herself. And should she find out that her acting skills weren’t that great...it’d just be horrible, really. Kat nearly had the idea of pouting as his arms were no longer around her, but such would most likely raise suspicion within Cathan, so she thought better of it, and simply turned around to look at him properly, although he was now sitting on the ground. She looked at him with a confused expression as he began to take off his hoodie, wondering why he would do such a thing. It was cold outside, and here he was taking a piece of clothing off? Was he nuts?
Kat blinked as suddenly the Misfits hoodie came flying at her, accompanied by his exclamation. ”Eek!” came the shouted sound from her lips as the hoodie hit her in the face, covering it. Removing it from its position of being draped over her white-blonde and black hair, she scrunched up her nose in distaste. ”You could’ve given me more of a warning, you know,” she told him, rolling her eyes with a grin. It was true, that it was quite cold outside. And in her rush to leave her house, and her mother, behind, she had forgotten to grab a jacket. She bit her lip, not wanting to stop Cathan from being warm. ”But won’t you be cold?” she inquired of him, worry for her best friend showing in her eyes. However, having asked such similar questions before, she knew that either she would put it on, or he would force it on her. And, although she did enjoy playing around with Cathan, him forcing the hoodie on her wasn’t that enjoyable.
So, she slipped the black garment over her head, pushing her slender arms into the arm holes as she settled the piece of clothing around her. Crossing her arms in front of her chest, still slightly cold, she feigned thoughtfulness. ”Hmm....I don’t know...maybe...four thousand times?” She grinned, mirth evident in her eyes as the smile covered her lips in the teasing. He constantly said it, she knew, but she also never listened to his warnings about it. She knew he was only concerned about her well being, but in the rush to leave her house and get away from her infuriating mother, she also forgot that one thing vital to northern weather.
Kat hummed slightly as she took a place sitting next to Cathan, although slightly diagonal so that she could see him better, and not have to turn her head sideways to see him. She watched him as a slight glaze appeared in his eyes. Wondering what he was thinking about, she let her eyes wander to look around her, interested in the area about her, although barely anything had changed since her last graveyard visit. Actually, she doubted that anything had changed since she had last come here. Glancing back at Cathan, a grin fell upon her lips as she saw that he looked as if he were about to fall asleep. She snapped her fingers in front of his face. ”Hey!” she said loudly with a broad grin covering her mouth, her white teeth evident behind her lips. ”Wake up, sleepy head!” She laughed as he seemed to come out of his daze. She wondered if he had come out of his sleep induced trance because of her, or of his own accord. Either way, it didn’t matter.
Scooting over next to him, she casually wrapped her arm around him, her hand coming to rest lightly on his waist. Hey, it was a lot more comfortable than putting it around his shoulder, to be honest. ”Hey,” she murmured softly, concern heard in her voice. ”What’s got you thinking? And so tired, hm? Daydreaming about some hot girl you saw on the way here?” She teased with a grin. ”Anyways, how’ve you been? Besides things at your house, though. How’s your social life, hm?” She inquired of him. As she waited for a response, she gently squeezed his waist in a one-arm hug, humming slightly to a song as it played softly through the ear bud that was still within her ear, the music soft enough that it could easily be drowned out, and nothing would be drowned out by it. Simple enough solution.

I am not the one that you should blame So take what I left you for the pain
Cathan would like to know why he was such a hermit, why he couldn't be more social. He was a shy kid, unlike his little sister, Carolanne, who was outgoing and talkative. Destined to be a scene kid, eh? He was such an outcast as a child, no one ever liked him. Maybe if he had friends back then, then he could make friends now. He didn't know how he became friends with Kat or Kiara. It was more like they befriended him, because the weren't the normal type of people that Cathan talked to, if he talked to anyone that is. Most people found it hard not to talk because they expressed how they felt through their words, but instead of words, Cathan expressed all those things through art, photography and music. Those were also the things that kept Cathan sane, if you could call him sane. He appeared sane on the outside, but on the inside, he knew something wasn't right, there was a loose bolt that kept him from being normal and having a normal life like most people.
Kat said she didn't want to calm down and then said she wasn't a child. "I'm eighteen, therefore, I'm older and can tell you what to do, making you a child, practically a fetus." Cathan said, a slight grin on his face. Kat wasn't much younger then he was, but he still liked to tease her like that. Most people who didn't know Cathan would say he was an ass, but Cathan was simply playful by nature when you really, really got to know him. He only knew Kat for about 8 months, but somehow, in the short time frame, she was able to dig a place deep in Cathan's heart. That wasn't normal for anyone to be able to do. Cathan didn't want to let any one in, in fear of getting his heart crushed, but Kat had snuck her way past security and decided to stay in his heart. And Cathan was sure he like her there.
She teased him by asking who didn't love her. Cathan gave a wide grin and said "I could name quite a few people, Katty." He teased right back. Actually, he couldn't name anyone who he knew that didn't like her, besides her mom of course, but she didn't count. And of course, Cathan didn't know a lot of people either. And he also didn't go to school with Kat. He was in college. So he really didn't know anyone who didn't like her. But he couldn't see how anyone couldn't like Kat. She was such a good friend and gave the best hugs and was really cute! Wait, did he just think that? 'Damn it , Cathan. Get a hold of yourself.' he mentally told him self in his brain.
”It’s okay....and I’m fine. You’re here to support me through this shit, and that’s enough for me,” Cathan nodded just so she didn't argue with him. It wasn't enough! Well, not in Cathan's mind. He wanted, no, needed to do more for her and by George, he was going to do whatever it took to make her happy again. No matter how much she tried to say that she was happy, he could look in her eyes and see that they were full of sadness and fear. At least Cathan had a parent who loved him. His dad might be dead and his step-dad might hate him, but his mom was there for him in the end, always. And Kat didn't even have that. That's why Cathan felt bad for whining about his problems most of the time.
Cathan heard Kat screech and he giggled. Cathan had the most adorable giggle ever. It was like a Frank Iero giggle, mixed with an emo kid. So yeah, it was cute and hot, if you could use those two things in the same sentence. ”You could’ve given me more of a warning, you know,” Cathan raised his eye brow. "But I didn't." He said with a faux serious tone. ”But won’t you be cold?” Cathan chuckled again. "No, I'm fine. Plus, I get to show off my new shirt!" he exclaimed. He loved Pokemon so much, it wasn't even funny. 'Specially Pikachu! She was the best. So fuzzy and...yellow-y. Yellow was an awesome color in Cathan's opinion.
He was deep in thought when Kat snapped her fingers and said something to him. He shook his head like he just woke up from a trance and then smiled. She told him to wake up and called him a sleepy head and Cathan chuckled. "Wasn't asleep." He mumbled. He was just thinking real hard about things. He hated thinking so hard, but he couldn't help it. It was one of his many, many flaws. ”What’s got you thinking? And so tired, hm? Daydreaming about some hot girl you saw on the way here?” Cathan gave a wide grin and started to fake laugh. "Ha!" He started "Hahaha! I think the hot girls have abandon Russia." He thought for a second and then smiled again. "Well, not all of them. There's more here then in France" He realized he was flirting with her a little bit and hoped she thought nothing of it. Blushing a little bit, he quickly looked in the other direction.
”Anyways, how’ve you been? Besides things at your house, though. How’s your social life, hm?” Cathan smirked. "What social life?" she knew he didn't have one. All he did was sit at home all day and draw. Jack told him that he was wasting his life away, doing such silly things like day dreaming and drawing. But what did he know? Nothing. Kat had her arm around him and Cathan couldn't say he didn't like it. He wrapped his arm around her, just like she had her arm wrapped around him, except his hand was at her hip, a little lower then her hand was on him. He laid flat on the solid ground, bringing her down with him. He stared up at the sky, tracing each cloud with his big, blue, doe eyes.

so baby take off your disguise and see sunsets and starlit skies Kat wasn’t exactly the social butterfly. More like the crazy chick that would just plain out talk to anyone just because she felt like it. That’s how she got several of her friends. Well, and some of her enemies, too. Some called her a social butterfly just because of her vast amount of friends, but she didn’t think she was. She was just one of those people that talks to whoever is nearby, whether they want to talk to a complete stranger or not. If they didn’t talk, they’d excuse themselves and walk away. Or just straight out walk away. Both had happened. A majority of her friendships started out like that, with her randomly initiated conversation with the person, and then they’d just become friends. Hey, who could blame her? She liked to talk, perhaps too much, and she just enjoyed seeing a person’s reaction when they figured out that she was talking to them, not some other random person nearby, and that they’d no idea who this girl was. She was pretty sure that’s how her friendship with Cathan had started, but she wasn’t sure. Too many amazing memories had followed their meeting that it was hard to tell, but she was pretty sure it was.
She sputtered sounds of protest as pouted slightly after he finished speaking. ”So what, you’re eighteen, big whoop. I’m seventeen! I’m almost eighteen!” She exclaimed with a pout, her bottom lip jutting out as she looked up at him. ”You aren’t my parent, you can’t tell me what to dooo~ ‘Sides, I sure as hell ain’t no fetus to your oh-so-grand eighteen years,” she replied, sticking out her tongue teasingly. Some people that had heard Cathan when he actually said something to his friend commented that he acted like an ass, but Kat never thought so. She recognized his actions as teasing, and, hell, she did it all the time. It was simply in her nature to act as such around her friends, and she hadn’t a problem with it at all. She knew when someone was teasing and when someone wasn’t, and responded accordingly. Even in the somewhat short span of eight months that she had known Cathan, she had quickly grown accustomed to how he acted, and his tones of voice and what each meant, recognizing when he was teasing, sad, happy, depressed. She didn’t think she knew anyone as well as she knew Cathan. She didn’t know why, of course. Why he had gotten that special place in her heart for him, why he was the person that she could read the best, although not perfectly, she knew.
Kat feigned a hurt look at his reply to her comment. ”That hurt Cathaannn,” she told him, drawing out his name as she looked at him with a façade of sadness on her face. ”And here I was, thinking the whole world loved me, but here I am, struck down with the truth of the matter. A very small amount of people love me, I have learned,” she proclaimed, her voice still carrying a tone of sadness, resisting the urge to smile, but failing miserably as a large grin broke over her lips. The situation was too humorous for her not to be consumed by it, to not smile or laugh or let her façade of misery and depression crack. It was simply impossible, especially when you knew what kind of person Kat was. She wasn’t a particularly serious girl. Sure, she had times where she was completely serious, and knew better than to joke around, but such situations were rare, and you were more likely to see the Kat that many people knew. The crazy hyper chick that did whatever the hell she wanted. The weird one who had hair that changed at most every month, ranging between blonde, black, brown, red, and red-brown with various styles. That was her, and many people at least liked her for her uniqueness. Well, besides the bitchy preps, of course. And while Cathan wasn’t the most known person in the world, she didn’t know many people that disliked him. He was an amazing friend, that was for sure, and his hugs were amazing, not to mention he was extremely attractive, but Kat mentally shook her head, trying to rid herself of that thought. Not that it wasn’t true, for it was completely so, but she was simply trying to get a hold of herself, and not reveal anything. She didn’t want him to find out about her crush on him and make fun of her for it. Or worse, never talk to her again. Such a thing would be horrible, really.
Her mouth quirked to the side slightly as she saw Cathan simply nodding along, saddened by the fact that he had nothing else to say. She knew that he didn’t quite agree with her there. He had said as much plenty times before. He wanted to help her, to truly be able to help her, but he didn’t have anything that he could really help with, and Kat knew that he resented that fact, that he wanted to badly to help her. She knew that, although she constantly told him that being there for her was enough. She also knew that he didn’t think so, that he wanted to help her so much, but couldn’t. But he had given up trying to argue that with her. He could read her easily, just as easily as she could usually read him, she was sure. A light sigh escaped her lips, wrapping one of her arms around the other, wincing slightly, her breath hitching for a fraction of a second, as her slender fingers brushed a bruise concealed under her shirt. She glanced down and regained her normal breathing, hoping that Cathan hadn’t noticed. If he had...she knew that he’d ask her what was wrong, thought he would already know. Then he’d probably demand to see the damage, and then be all sad over it. And she didn’t want to see him sad.
Kat couldn’t help but grin as a giggle escaped from Cathan’s lips. The most adorable giggle ever, if you asked her. Nothing could beat the adorableness of Cathan’s giggle in her eyes. Then again, that might be biased because it was Cathan’s giggle, but that was beside the point. She thought that his giggle was the best, and that was that. She made a face at his reply. ”I noticed that you didn’t,” she replied with a hint of a grin on her lips, resisting a strong urge to poke her tongue out from between her lips. A grin covered her lips at his next remark, and she laughed lightly. ”That is true,” she told him, eyes flicking down to look at the shirt before looking back up at his face, her smiled never fading. Him and his obsession with Pokemon. Seriously, her eighteen year old best friend was still obsessed with Pokemon. But hey, it was Pikachu. Pikachu did indeed own everything. Pikachu was definitely the best Pokemon out there, she couldn’t disagree with that, that was for sure. ”Your new shirt is lovely,” she stated with a grin, a light giggle escaping from between her lips. She resisted the urge to pull another face. She wasn’t really the giggling type of girl, really. She much preferred just straight out laughing, although many of her friends stated her giggle was adorable, and instantly wished she could just removing giggling from the world. Instead of pulling a face, she simply blushed lightly, her eyes finding the ground as she attempted to make the blush just go away.
Light eyebrows, matching the blond part of her hair, raised skeptically at his murmured response. ”It sure seemed like it to me,” she teased him with a grin. She didn’t blame him though. She was pretty sure that he was deep in thought, and she often did as such herself at times, and people sometimes got pissed at Kat for gazing out into the distance, deep in thought, thinking only that she was ignoring them. It happened often, especially when Kat was only around one or two friends that weren’t extremely interesting at that point. But she hardly ever managed to do it around Cathan, no matter if he was being interesting at that moment or not, because, in her eyes, he was always extremely interesting, although she tried to deny that. Never worked, however. At his reply, she pouted lightly. ”What about me?” she questioned, before mentally smacking herself for what she just said. How could she have been so stupid? She could have practically been running at him screaming that she had a crush on him. Blushing, she cursed the fact that she was easy to do so as she looked towards the ground, the gears in her brain working fast to find a way to cover that up without sounding too stupid. ”I-I mean...” she trailed off as he spoke again, saying that not all of the hot girls abandoned Russia. ”ForgetwhatIjustsaid,” she mumbled, jumbling her words together. She spared a glance over at Cathan, and saw a pink tinge on his cheeks, but dismissed it as being a result of the cold weather.
A grin tugged the corner of her mouth at his reply. She knew that he had barely any sort of social life, and she was actually kind of saddened by that fact. Kat had so much fun being herself and just talking to people. Hell, she often tried to get Cathan to join in, but it hardly ever worked. Ah well. ”Oh, you know, the one that is running away from you,” she commented teasingly with a light smirk on her lips. She felt comfortable with her arm wrapped around his waist. At home. She could feel the slight heat that radiated from his body at the places where their bodies touched. She tried to hide a serene smile as she felt his arm wrap around her. She knew that anybody that saw them now would probably think them a couple, and how Kat wished it were so, truth be told. A slight yelp escaped from between her lips as she found herself being pulled gently backwards. A grin lighted her lips again as she glanced over at him. ”Thanks for the warning, it was a real help, you know?” She laughed as her eyes returned to the sky above, as she looked at the clouds as she drifted forlornly. Her eyes traced the shapes, trying to find one that looked like something. ”OHMYGAWD!” Kat shouted ecstatically, her free arm pointing to a cloud that crawled just above the trees of the forest. ”That one looks like a fucking monkey!” She squealed, grinning. Monkeys were one of her favorite animals, that was for sure, and she was happy that she could make the image of one from the clouds. Hey, it was fun to her, alright?

Just go, run away. But where did you run to? ”So what, you’re eighteen, big whoop. I’m seventeen! I’m almost eighteen!” Cathan chuckled at Kat. He placed a hand on her shoulder and smirked. "But that one year separates us so much! You see, I can do things that little girls, such as yourself can not do. I am a legal adult, while if you get caught buying anything such as, oh, I dunno, lets say cigarettes, it's a federal offense." That was the most Cathan had said in one sentence for a while. He talked alot more when he was around ”You aren’t my parent, you can’t tell me what to dooo~ ‘Sides, I sure as hell ain’t no fetus to your oh-so-grand eighteen years,” "I could be your parent, if I tried for custody or something, because I'm eighteen and can do that." Cathan teased towards his best friend. She wasn't that young, but Cathan was going to pull this whole 'I'm a legal adult' thing until she turned eighteen, then it wouldn't be any fun. Oh well, better enjoy it while it lasts, eh?
”And here I was, thinking the whole world loved me, but here I am, struck down with the truth of the matter. A very small amount of people love me, I have learned,” Cathan gave her a strange look and said "Why on earth would you think that anyone loves you?" He paused for a second and then hugged her. "I'm just kidding. I love you, and that's all that matters, right?" He said with a nod, playing around with Kat. He knew that people liked Kat. Well, some did, if they liked the whole, loud, talking all the time type of person, which was what Kat was. She loved to talk and that was how she would always be. So the best thing to do in Cathan's eyes was let the haters hate and keep on going. Because, in the end, there would always be someone who loves you for who you are. Or so they say. Cathan hadn't found anyone in his eighteen years that had actually loved him. Hell, He's never been kissed or had a girlfriend for that matter.
Kat did something similar to a gasp and Cathan looked at her. "What's wrong Kat? don't say it's nothin'." Cathan shook his head at her. If she said it was nothing, Cathan would probably tackle her onto the ground and make her tell him, and probably earning some odd glances from people who thought they were doing something nasty in the graveyard. I mean, come on! How romantic is the graveyard?! Cathan shook his head at the thought and looked off into the distance again, thinking about random stuff. Cathan was a thinker more then a talker. That was for sure.
When Cathan made the comment about the hot girls, what Kat said caught him off guard. He quickly snapped his head towards her and started. "Wha..?" He began to ask but shut up again. Did she just like, admit to having a crush on him? No, no, no. There had to be another meaning. Cathan knew that Kat didn't have a crush on him, it was impossible. Way beyond impossible. ”ForgetwhatIjustsaid,” Cathan nodded.
"Awkward...." He muttered under his breath. Only Kat could make a normal conversation this awkward. Cathan shook his head and laid down on the ground with Kat. ”Oh, you know, the one that is running away from you,” A smirk pulled at his lips. "It's only running away because I chased it with a bat, telling it that if it ever tried to come back, I would kill it." Cathan nodded up and down just in time to hear her say something about a Monkey. "Ahh! would you look at that? It does look like a monkey!" Cathan spoke in the soft tone that his voice never left. He looked at a fluffy white could that had seemed to just suddenly appear in a few seconds. "That one looks like bunny eating ice cream!" Cathan said, pointing at the white cloud. The clouds looked so pretty against the pale blue sky that was lit up by the glowing sun.
Kat's earlier comment still had Cathan off guard. He wondered what she meant by it. He would really like to know , but he knew if he even tried to ask her then she would say it was nothing. He knew her all to well. Better then Cathan had ever known anyone. He didn't know why Kat was so special. Maybe it was the fact that she seemed to know Cathan better then he knew his self, or for the simple fact that she wasn't mean to him like alot of other people were. No matter what the reason was. He knew he would always have her as a friend and hopefully something more one day. Though he doubted that would happen, a flicker of hope was still in his heart. Even though it was very small, it was still there.
Cathan rolled over on his side and wrapped both of his arms around Kat. Closing his eyes, he moved his head to where it now rested on her shoulder. He liked this position very much but would never admit to it. That would be a total embarrassment. And that was one thing Cathan hated, to be embarrassed. So many people didn't like him now, why give them more ammo to hate him any more?
He was off in dream land. Not really asleep, more like day dreaming while curled up to is best friend. So Cathan wasn't really monitoring what he was saying. He lifted his head slightly off the ground and sighed. "I like this position." He said. After it registered in his head what he just said, His eyes shot open and he looked horrified. "I-i-I mean...uh..maybe I should go....." He said, trying to cover up his mistake. But he didn't want to leave her. "Or maybe..I should...uh..um.." Cathan trailed off, unsure of what to say next.[/blockquote] _____________ Words: 1k on the dot! xD Outfit: Cathan is still in girl pants!Notes: Awwwwuh. So cute.

confusion boiling like the water that’s been heated Kat pertly stuck out her tongue at him, followed by a pout. ”I’m not a little girl!” she said, crossing her arms, letting a light huff escape her lips. ”Besides, why would I even want to buy cigarettes. Things are nasty crap, anyways. Besides, you’re still technically a teenager, whether or not you’re a legal adult now,” she pointed out to him. It was true, too. ‘Teen’ was still tacked on to his age, therefore, he was still classified as a teenager, although an adult one. An adult teenager, that was pretty much an oxymoron, was it not? Ah well. He was still a teenager in her book, and that was what mattered. Because her book owned. Seriously. But he often said such things to her, anyways, pulling his old ‘legal adult’ thing over her, while she wasn’t one yet. Oh, he was definitely going to get it when she herself was a legal adult, although he’d probably pull some of her old retorts on her, anyways. She rolled her eyes. ”Just what I’d need, for you to be my legal guardian. Besides, I doubt the court would like to have my best friend be my guardian. Especially one that is barely older than me,” she replied. That would indeed be quite an awkward situation, seeing as how she had a crush on him. It would be quite odd to like her legal guardian.
A giggle escaped her lips as she saw the strange look he gave her, although she knew it was feigned. ”Mmm, I don’t know. Maybe I just thought I was so full of awesome that everyone else just had to love me. Or maybe the friends I do have spoil me too much with their love, causing me to think highly of myself,” she replied casually, however, a grin crept upon her lips to break the feigned seriousness of her comment. She couldn’t help it, though, because the situation was too amusing for her to not let such a smile take over. She knew she wasn’t exactly popular, but she had a good amount of friends, and not too many enemies, in any case. She grinned as he wrapped his arms around her in a hug, trying not to let the slight warmth that she suddenly felt in her cheeks flame up too much. ”Good, you better,” she replied, poking him lightly in the side with a bright grin on her face. Hell, she didn’t care if people loved her or not. She was the way she was, and if they didn’t like it, then they could just go die in a fucking fire for all she cared. They didn’t like her, it was their fault, not hers. To each her own, she often said, and that was an instance in which it could be used. But she believed, as most would, that everyone would, in the long run, have one person that would love them no matter what happened. Through the thick and thin. Then again, she was a bit of a romantic at heart, as most girls were, and thought that such ideas were utterly adorable. And she wouldn’t know anything about love. She hadn’t ever had a boyfriend, much less been kissed, or kissed anyone on the lips. Chaste cheek kisses had happened before, of course, but they where never meant that way. So, in short, she was no expert on love, no matter that she was a bit of a romantic.
Kat flinched at his words, recognizing that he had heard her gasp when she had brushed her bruise. She looked down at the ground. ”But it really is nothing, Cathan,” she murmured softly, feeling slightly uncomfortable in this situation. She knew that he would be sad, and angry at her mother, if he found the bruise that marred her skin. She didn’t like that she had such marks in various places along her body, but she dealt with it fine, and most of the time, Cathan, or any of her other friends, didn’t find out about them. In the case that one of them did, she tried to brush it off as much as she could. It worked better with her other friends, but it just made her sad to see Cathan sad, as he was when he saw the marks, and it was just different with him. He didn’t really accept her brushing it off as nothing. He never did, no matter how hard she tried to convince him it was fine. She didn’t want to see him hurt, especially over her. She wasn’t anything that special, she was just herself. She had plenty of self esteem, but she didn’t think she deserved to have Cathan be sad over her.
Stupid, stupid, stupid!” Kat thought to herself as the ground dragged her gaze to it, concealing her blush from him as she did so. Of all the things she could’ve said, it had to be the one thing that would make everything so much worse. It had to be the comment that would create an awkward silence between the two. She simply shook her head as Cathan began to speak. She didn’t know if he had seen that motion or not, for she wasn’t looking at him, intent on staring at the ground and hiding her face, and her obvious embarrassment, from him. She was stupid for not thinking over her words before letting them spill from her mouth, and this situation proved it. Why did she have to go saying something like that? She knew there was no way that he liked her back. She was just his friend, and that was it, no matter that they both quite liked to cuddle and seemed to be a couple. They weren’t one, and she knew that. They were simply two really good friends that liked to cuddle and be all touchy-feely with each other. Oh, and that she had a hopeless crush on him. But she didn’t factor that part in as much. That was it, though. Friends. She couldn’t let her feelings stop their friendship. She couldn’t reveal to him that she liked him. It would hurt to know that he didn’t like her the same way back, and things would be awkward around the two after that.
She nodded in agreement, taking a deep breath and attempting to make her blush go away. Or at least fade some, so it wasn’t such a deep tinge. As soon as she felt enough of the warmth that had coated Kat’s cheeks dwindle away, she looked back up at Cathan. Of course she, of all people, could make such a normal conversation awkward with just one sentence. A short sentence, at that. Truth be told, she currently wanted to bash her head on one of the headstones, but she wouldn’t. She treasured her life, and her friends, too much. Besides, she knew that Cathan would be saddened by such an action, and she couldn’t stand a depressed Cathan. Well, not one that looked depressed, in any case. She attempted to rid her mind of the situation as she was lying on the ground next to Cathan, staring up at the sky. A grin pulled the corners of her mouth as laughter bubbled from within her, soft laughs escaping her mouth. ”Would that not be a federal offence? It’d be murder, wouldn’t you think?” Kat inquired, a smirk replacing her grin easily with her reply. As Cathan saw the monkey in the formation, she bobbed her head up and down in agreement. ”Mhhm,” was the only reply that she gave, her eyes searching for yet another shape. At Cathan’s proclamation, she glanced over at Cathan, to see in which direction he saw this interesting creation, following his pointing finger to see the shape. She giggled lightly as she inspected it. ”Now that you say it, I can see that, although I don’t think I would’ve gotten such a form from that,” she commented with a grin, stifling her giggles.
Silence befell the two after that, and Kat couldn’t help but let her mind wander back to her stupid comment to him. Well, not necessarily stupid, per se, but definitely a comment that would probably haunt her for a while. Especially if Cathan figured out her feelings for him. Well, that in itself would haunt her, unless in the unlikely situation of him returning said feelings, though she doubted that; but this conversation would probably start his suspicions, perhaps, and lead him to figuring it out. She didn’t think she could handle it if he learned that she liked him, especially since she was pretty sure that he didn’t like her. He deserved someone better, someone who was more like him, quiet and reserved. Someone who could understand him more. He didn’t deserve someone like her, she thought. A light sigh escaped her lips at that thought. Though he deserved someone better than her, she couldn’t help but to hopelessly like him, and desire to be something more than just simple friends. It was how things were.
Kat’s eyes widened slightly as she felt both of Cathan’s arms being wrapped around her, but she quickly relaxed her body. He had just surprised her that was all. The motion had been a sudden one, and, with her thinking about her crush on him, she hadn’t expected such a thing to happen. She repressed a content sigh as she had the urge to release it. She definitely enjoyed the position, her petite frame wrapped under his slightly large body, although in a similar build to her own. She turned her head slightly to look at Cathan, enough that she could simply see him. A soft smile crossed her lips as she looked at him, his appearance seemingly peaceful. She felt like she could sit here forever, his arms wrapped around her, head resting on her shoulder with a peaceful expression upon his face. She felt at peace here, like nothing could go wrong here.
But such was proven wrong not too long after that. Well, not that something necessarily went wrong, but it was...different, and surprising. Her own head in a different place, she really didn’t think about what he said, or about what she would say. Of course, it wasn’t often that she really thought about what she said before saying it. ”I do too...” she murmured lightly, before her own eyes widened in surprise that she said that. ”Uhm, I mean..er........” she said quickly, trailing off as he also stumbled for words. Her eyes widened more, if that was possible. ”No! Don’t go! Er....I mean...please don’t...?” She nearly shouted the first two sentences, before quieting her voice. She felt a bright heat on her cheeks and she simply wanted to die right there. ”Uhm.....so....er......” She glanced around, thinking for something to say. As her eyes darted about, she noticed that he was still rather close. Maybe too close, and yet, at the same time, too far. Yeah, having a crush on someone was often very confusing. And worse when it was on your best friends. ”I...er...what I said.......itwasn’talie.” Kat rushed the last words as her blush deepened. She didn’t know what she was doing. She was probably openly admitting that she liked him. Really liked him. She closed her eyes, trying to ready herself for the rejection she just knew was about to come.

The anger runs down both of his cheeks. But no one cares to ask
”Besides, why would I even want to buy cigarettes. Things are nasty crap, anyways. Besides, you’re still technically a teenager, whether or not you’re a legal adult now,” Cathan chuckled at the girl who the two-toned hair that was standing in front of him. "Ugh. You make everything so difficult, Kat. What else can an eighteen year old buy that a seventeen year old can't?" He thought for a second. He wasn't old enough to buy alcohol, and drugs were illegal. Not that he smoked or did drugs, but he needed to find something, anything that he could buy and she couldn't. "Ah! I got nothin' " He said, throwing his arms submissively in the air.
"Wait." He started. "Is it legal for you minors to buy porn in Russia? In France, that' not so legal, 'ya know?" Cathan joked. He wouldn't know anything about shit like that. ”Just what I’d need, for you to be my legal guardian. Besides, I doubt the court would like to have my best friend be my guardian. Especially one that is barely older than me,” Cathan mentally chuckled. He pictured him being her guardian when she was just a few months younger then he was. Cathan remembered when he was sixteen and seventeen. Wanting so desperate to be eighteen so he could be free to leave. But with freedom comes bills and for bills, you sort of have to have money, which Cathan had none. He hadn't even a job. He was a full time student and when he wasn't at school, his lazy-ass step dad was ragging on him or telling him to do something. Saying Cathan wasn't good for anything when Jack wouldn't even think enough to keep his daughter and wife warm.
”Mmm, I don’t know. Maybe I just thought I was so full of awesome that everyone else just had to love me. Or maybe the friends I do have spoil me too much with their love, causing me to think highly of myself,” Cathan let a crooked smirk pull at the corner of his pale lips. "Me? Spoil you? Never!" He chuckled. He didn't think he spoiled her. He just gave her what she deserved and that was to be loved. Her mother sure as hell didn't love her, or even act like she loved her. Cathan was lucky to have a mother that loved him and a father that cared before he died. Cathan had never met him, being he died on the way to the hospital when Cathan was born, but he knew that he was a good man from the stories that his mother had told him. He just wished Carolanne had a dad like he had. Someone who would take care of her instead of lay around and drink all day.
In reality, Cathan was more like Carolanne's father then brother. He was doing every thing for his four year old sister. Making sure she got to school, making sure she had a bath and clothes washed, reading to her before she fell asleep, and often times, Carolanne would fall asleep with Cathan. He was also teaching her English because no one else even thought about it. Hell, no one thought about teaching Cathan English, he had to learn it himself at sixteen. He loved her, that was for sure, even if she was only his step-sister. Cathan sure as hell didn't see it that way. In his eyes, she was his full sister. Cathan was snapped out of his thoughts by hearing Kat's voice. ”Good, you better,” Cathan smiled, showing off a little bit of his braces. Lord how he hated those things. "Trust me, I do." He said, making it seem like he was teasing her. When in reality, he did love her. He wanted to be with her. But he knew it would never happen. They would always just be friends.
”But it really is nothing, Cathan,” Cathan shook his head. "That is a lie, straight from the pits of hell." He said, half serious, half joking. He didn't like seeing her hurt. It made him feel bad inside. Like if he ate too much candy or drank a whole thing of bubbles.....Not that he had ever done that. But he was pretty sure it would give you a sick feeling. That's how he felt when he knew there was something wrong with Kat. "You know you can tell me anything, right?" He questioned her. He knew she knew that, but he wanted to make sure there was nothing being hidden from him. If there was something else going on in her life that he didn't know about then that would make Cathan so sad, mad and pissed. Why? Because, a good friend should be able to tell when another friend is hurting inside and if Cathan couldn't then he had miserably failed his job.
”Would that not be a federal offense? It’d be murder, wouldn’t you think?” Cathan smirked. " I don't think you can get charged with killing a social life, can you?" Cathan teased. ”Now that you say it, I can see that, although I don’t think I would’ve gotten such a form from that,” "Ah ha. And what would you have gotten from it?" He asked, giggling a bit.
When Cathan put his arms around Kat, she seemed to tense up a little bit. "You okay?" He asked her in the soft voice that had a slight French accent to it. No matter how hard he tried, he could not get rid of that damn accent. She relaxed a little bit, making Cathan relax too. after a while and laying in the cemetery lawn, probably on some dead person who had been there for a while, he heard Kat murmur something. ”I do too...” It took a second to register in Cathan's head what she just said wasn't a friendly type thing. Cathan sighed. "I'm glad." Then, when his mind was working right, he shot up to the sitting position.
"You do?!" He asked. Kat was stuttering all over herself, asking him not to go. A smile spread across his lips. It wasn't his normal 'I hate my braces so I'm going to gave the shittiest smile I can, but it's still hot' smile. It was a full fledge smile. His heart was racing. Then she said something else. ”I...er...what I said.......itwasn’talie.” Cathan's mouth dropped open, laughing under his breath, making it appear as a gasp. Laughing at the fact that someone like her could like someone like Cathan. Kat just admitted to liking him? wow.
The smiled never left his face. He bit his bottom lip slightly, forgetting that both of his spider bites were in. So of course when he but down, it jerked on of the rings. Making Cathan wince. "Fuck." He muttered as he took them out to prevent that happening again. But then, his eyes lit up again, thinking about what Kat just said. It probably took two minutes for him to be able to say anything and re gain his composure. "You...like me?" He asked, a bit breathlessly. He was in shock.

Just know that I’ll always be here no fear, let me make one thing clear. That’s why you never see it coming Kat watched with a smirk as he spoke. ”I’m the queen of making things difficult,” she retorted with her smirk still in place, as if such a thing was the best in the world. ”You’ll have to figure that out for yourself.” Her smirk was plastered firmly on her lips as she watched him fish around for some item that she could not purchase at her age that he could at his. Alcohol was out of it; he wasn’t twenty-one. Her own mind went to such thoughts, trying to think of things that he could buy as well, but also failing at thinking of anything. ”HAH! I win,” she said with a self-satisfied grin on her lips. Pretty much everything was a game to her, and she either won or lost. And she seemed to win a lot more than she lost. Or so she thought, for when she “lost” she usually didn’t announce it. But that was a secret, and she thought no one noticed it, although many people did. ”I wwiiinn~ You loosssee~” She said in a sing-song voice, grin only widening on her lips as she spoke, eyes glittering in mirth and enjoyment.
At his next words, she simply rose her eyebrows at him. ”Oh, because I would totally know that, because you totally know that I look at porn aalll the time,” she replied sarcastically, teasing in her voice. Of course she didn’t look at porn. Not many females did, anyways. It was mostly the guys that looked at such a vile thing, the horny things boys were. But she couldn’t help that. As Cathan kept quiet, she thought how odd that would be, with him as her legal guardian, besides the fact that he was the object of her affections. In general, it would be kind of cool, to have her best friend as her guardian. But again, add in the fact that she liked Cathan that way just made everything weird. She mentally shook her head, ridding that thought again. Yeesh, she couldn’t wait until she could get out of her house. She needed to get out so bad, and she just plain out couldn’t wait to be eighteen. She already had plans for that. She would move out and move into the apartments. Sure, the apartments were crappy, but it was better than living with her mother. She’d have to get a job soon, though, if she wanted to pay the rent there. But she’d also get a roommate. Maybe she’d invite Cathan to live with her. She knew that he had a hard time at home, and anywhere would be better than that fuck of a place, she was sure. But that was in the future. She’d think about that more when she was getting closer to her birthday.
Kat grinned at his response, just wanting to hug him and his adorableness, but even with their friendship that was a bit more touchy-feely than most, she doubted that would be the best thing to do. She knew that they didn’t really spoil her with love. She was glad that she had friends to love her. Better than anything her fuck of a mother did. Kat didn’t really hate her mother; she had a love for the woman, although it was odd. Sometimes she wished her mother was a druggie or an alcoholic, so at least Kat could blame something for her mother’s actions, but it was not so, sadly. It had always been her thought that her mom loved her in a way, but one that the woman just couldn’t display. And then she was sad with the death of Kat’s father, and so blamed the girl for it.
She knew of Cathan’s home situation. Somewhat, anyways. She had a feeling that Cathan didn’t tell her everything that went on in his life, and she respected that, but still wished that he could trust her and tell her the rest of what happened. She knew he had an asshole of a stepdad and a little step-sister that he took care of. She also knew that he had a mother that loved him. Although his stepdad was an asshole, Kat was envious of Cathan’s home life. He had people, family, who loved him. And, sure, she thought that her mother loved her in a way, but she knew that Cathan’s mom actually displayed her love, and showed Cathan that she loved him. She didn’t beat Cathan, didn’t abuse him in any way. Kat wished she could have a life like that. It would be so much better than the life she led now. Ah, well she only had a few more months until she could be out of the shithole that was her household. It wasn’t her home. She never felt as if she belonged there. And they say that home is where the heart is. And her heart was most definitely did not reside within her place of residence, although she wasn’t exactly sure where it was. But not at her house. ”Mmm, good,” she replied simply with a smile, grinning as his smile showed off his braces. She knew he hated those things, but she thought they were cute, although she was pretty sure he would look better with them off. Who didn’t? But hey, he looked good in them, and that was pretty awesome. Not many people looked good in braces. Although he said that he loved her, and hope rose in her chest, she squashed it down. Of course he didn’t mean that he loved her that way. He loved her as a friend, possibly like a sister, but not as more than such. He didn’t love her like she wanted him to. She wanted something to be there, but just knew that it was impossible.
Kat’s head hung. Of course, he would know that she was just lying about it. He was her closest friend, if you asked her. Or at least one of them. He knew when she was lying, and when she was being truthful, although she was a pretty terrible liar. She just wasn’t used to it, for she didn’t lie often. Or at least hadn’t. She didn’t grow up lying to her parents to get out of trouble. Then again, she didn’t get in too much trouble as a child. She had been a good girl, and hardly lied even when she got in trouble. That, and she pretty much had always been bad at lying, no matter what. So, of course Cathan caught her lie. ”I know...” she murmured, slightly embarrassed by the whole thing. She didn’t want to lie to Cathan, but she had to, because she didn’t want to see him sad. At his following words, she looked up at him, sadness evident in her eyes, although she attempted to hide them. ”I know....you know I know...I just....if I tell you, you’ll be sad. I don’t want you to be sad,” she told him earnestly, failing miserably in her attempts to mask her sadness. She dropped the arm that had been holding her other, but only succeeded in brushing the bruise once more. The dropped arm instantly flew back up to grip the bruised arm lightly around the marred area as she hissed in pain. ”Ow, fuck,” were the words that hissed from her mouth as she flinched in the pain that she felt around the bruised area. She tried to shake the pain away, but couldn’t, and simply just shook her head, taking deep breaths.
A giggle escaped from between Kat’s lips as she grinned at her. ”Well, I think you can. And if you can’t, I’m going to make it a law,” she stated, looking over at him with a teasing grin on her lips. At his inquiry, she looked back to the sky, studying the cloud shape intently, trying to figure out a shape from it. ”Uhhmm,” was the mumbled reply. ”A cloud?” She looked over at him with a questioning grin. Hey, it was the best thing she could come up with at the time. She was pretty creative at times, especially with music, but creating forms out of nothing wasn’t what she was best at. Well, at least not with clouds. Ink blobs she could do, but not clouds. Not all of them looked like something, if you asked her.
Kat let a soft smile cover her lips, not being able to help but smile at his French accent. She had always thought it so fucking adorable. Then again, that might just be her being a sucker for accents. Hey, they were hot, could you blame her? ”Yeah, I’m fine. I was just so out there that you surprised me a bit. But I’m completely okay, don’t worry,” was her reply, her own British accent falling into her words. Her accent was much like his, one that you couldn’t get rid of, no matter what. Luckily, she hadn’t ever had a particularly strong one in the first place, so it was only a light accent. But sometimes she just wished it would go away, for it was annoying at times. She let out a soft, contended sigh as she lay there in her friend’s arms, most likely lying above some dead body. Wasn’t that a lovely thought? She had to admit, that some person coming in to pay their respects to someone newly deceased, or perhaps the deceased’s birthday or deathday or some such that, would probably think the two quite odd. Especially if the previously mentioned fictional person where to think they were a couple, which, by their position, would be something one would easily think. A couple lying in the graveyard? Yeah, romantic...romantic her ass. Although her ass had nothing to do with romance. She hummed in happiness as a reply to his ‘I’m glad’ statement, before the situation fully was understood by her.
As Cathan scrambled to sit upright, she did the same, her eyes wide and surprised, full of mixed emotions of hope, happiness, shock, and probably a few other things in there. Her teeth gently bit down on her lower lip, chewing on it slightly, but not hard enough to cause it to bleed. She nodded slightly in response to his question, blushing brightly. Maybe he wouldn’t have noticed her nod, and just let it go. The ground quickly drew her gaze to it. She normally wasn’t so awkward, especially around people, or even Cathan, no matter that she had a crush on him. She didn’t deal well in awkward situations. Awkward silences, she could deal with usually with a randomly shouted random word, as she was oft known to do, but such a thing wouldn’t help here. No random word could heal the situation, although she was kind of sure that Cathan would giggle slightly, but then the subject would return to the situation at hand. So that was definitely not a good idea to do. She stared at the ground after her little confession, ready for nearly anything to come her way.
As Cathan uttereed a curse word, her head flew up to look at him. ”You okay?” She inquired, worried. She wasn’t sure what the curse was about. Maybe he was saying fuck because he realized what she meant, and thought that they wouldn’t be able to be as good friends anymore, or even that they should just ignore each other. This thought left a heavy feeling on her heart, although it was relieved as she watched him pull out his spider bites. He must’ve bitten down on them, and had caused the ring to jerk, hurting him. She wanted to breath a sigh of relief, although the situation wasn’t over. As Cathan directly inquired as to what she felt, the ground drew her gaze to it once more. ”I...uhm..” She pulled her legs up to her chest, resting her head on it so just her eyes could be seen over her knees. ”Yes?” she squeaked out, looking up at him with eyes that seemed to be pleading. She dropped her knees soon, though, and looked to the side. ”Just....don’t...hate me, please? I-I’ll try to not let it get in the way of our friendships or whatever. But..if you would rather we not be friends...that’s okay to...I mean.....if you think it’s too weird or whatever..” It hurt her to say those words, it was true. She just didn’t think that he would like her like that. She had squished that idea from her head long ago, although thoughts of them being together still arouse within her head, unbidden. Kat was just a general sort of fuck up, not believing she was worthy of anything as good as Cathan’s love. She just didn’t think such a thing was possible.

There's so much more to him then meets the eye But you'll never know him if you don't try
Why were people so mean these days? It seemed acceptable my modern day society to call people things, make fun of them for what they wear, how they talk or any special problems they might have. It usually starts to be accepted by kids at young ages. In Cathan's instance, it was kindergarten. He only had one friend and that friend was there for him. But all the other kids made fun of him. And the teasing from those kids lasted until he was out of high school last year.
It only got worse as time went on. One year, you're in eighth grade, thinking that it's as bad as it gets, then another year rolls by all to quickly and then your find yourself in the middle of a hell that most people like to call high school. You find out that eighth grade was nothing compared to this and you would happily go back to middle school. But Cathan wasn't complaining. He learned one thing form all those years. Never trust anyone.
But once your high school days are over, you enter a little thing Cathan liked to call college. It doesn't seem bad at first. There really aren't as many cliques as high school had and he wasn't there all day, everyday. Well, College goes fine until you walk in to your class, ten minutes early only to find two class mates doing each other . That was rather disturbing. And then came the tests and stupid reports. Why the hell would anyone have to do that? Half of the shit you have to report on wasn't even going to be used in the real world, plus, ingesting ten beers at the college kegger, driving home in your dads Kia, head banging to stone cold crazy with a glass of sunny D on your head was so much easier then the shit you were tested on. Oh if only he could go back to the eighth grade.
"Oh, because I would totally know that, because you totally know that I look at porn aalll the time,” This made Cathan chuckle. He seemed to be doing that a lot around Kat for some reason. It was strange, because Cathan never chuckled, or laughed, or even giggled, unless he was amused to the breaking point. Ah well, I guess being around your crush changes things quite drastically. Would you agree? Really, who cares if you agree? Not Cathan! Cause that's how he rolls, looser. Okay, so you're probably not a looser, but Cathan is in a strange position right now, forgive him for any strange things he may say.
”I know....you know I know...I just....if I tell you, you’ll be sad. I don’t want you to be sad,” Cathan glanced at her eyes. Seeing the sadness she was trying to hold back almost killed him. Sadness filling up his eyes, he tilted his head. "I'll only be sad because I know someone who is as wonderful and amazing as you are should be treated better." He wrapped his arm around her and gave her a little squeeze. ”Ow, fuck,” Cathan's eyes widened. "Be careful, Kat, please?" He asked then removed his arm.
Cathan sighed. He hated seeing his best friend sad. It made him all sad and icky inside. He hated it. He wanted nothing more then to see her happy again. I mean, she acted happy alot of times, but was she really happy? Cathan didn't think so. Or, at least most of the time. It killed him inside, it really did. But he couldn't do anything. Except....He had a thought.
"Hey, Kat..." He started, a grin creeping up on his face. He was going to be moving into his dead grandma's house soon. He knew Kat couldn't completely move in, but she could come stay a couple days out of the week. "I'm moving into Nana's house soon, being she died and all and my parents are about to give me the boot. And I know you can't really move in with me until you're eighteen, but you could come stay with me for a few days out of the week, I mean, if you want." He said, with a nod. He would do anything to get her away from her mom for a little bit.
”Well, I think you can. And if you can’t, I’m going to make it a law,” Cathan snickered. "Yeah, because they would let you make laws. Know you, you would free all the animals from the zoo and give prisoners lollipops!" It was the truth.Well, in Cathan's eyes it was. She said something about how it was just a cloud and Cathan shook his head. "You are oh so creative, Miss Kat." He said, his words laced with playful sarcasm. No one else would have been able to get a bunny eating ice cream out of that, but Cathan was a creative young lad, Being a aspiring photographer and artist meant you had to be somewhat creative, and Cathan was overflowing with creativity.
”Yeah, I’m fine. I was just so out there that you surprised me a bit. But I’m completely okay, don’t worry,” Cathan nodded and then snuggled up to her again as soon as he was informed that he didn't hurt her. Cathan wouldn't be able to live with himself if he hurt her, even if it was something small such as squeezing her too hard in a hug. He really wouldn't like himself then.
There was an awkward silence for a while, until Kat asked if Cathan was okay. But it was still awkward, so Cathan decided to try one of Kat's wonderful tricks and say something random. "Oven mitt!" He said with a slightly elevated voice. That only made things worse. "Um..... Yeah." Cathan said in response to nothing. Just making noise so the awkward ness wasn't silent. she squeaked out a Yes and Cathan's eyes widened to the size of grapefruits.
”Just....don’t...hate me, please? I-I’ll try to not let it get in the way of our friendships or whatever. But..if you would rather we not be friends...that’s okay too...I mean.....if you think it’s too weird or whatever..” Cathan shook his head really fast and smile. He wrapped his arms around Kat's waist and pulled her onto his lap.
"Shhh, Kat." He said in an attempt to calm him down. "I still want to be friends and uh..possibly more then friends...That is, uh if you, 'ya know, want to." He was about to continue until he phone rang.
He picked it up because he saw his mother's name flash on the screen. And he wanted to make sure it wasn't an emergency. "Bonjour, Maman." He spoke softy into the phone. "Cathan me and Jack are going out, we need you to watch Carolanne in about thirty minutes."his mom said. Cathan huffed but agreed and swiftly agreed.
Cathan hung up the phone and looked at Kat and bit his lip. "So...What do you say? Do you wanna, ya know, girl friend?" He asked, a bit nervously.

take it in and don’t regret; herein lies the moment Kat’s mouth quirked to the side in a slight smile as Cathan chuckled at her reply. He could do pretty much anything and make it cute. Or so she thought in any case. Then again, that might simply be because she liked him, and such affection for another may cause the object of the crush to seem even more cute than they were in the first place. Or maybe Cathan simply did everything in a cute way, pretty much. She might have to ask someone else...or maybe not. That’d be pretty weird, even for Kat, who was pretty weird in the first place. ”Yeah, I have this big great ol’ porn stash under my bed, under some other shit. It’s pretty amazing.” She grinned, her light gray eyes filled with mirth. Wow, she was probably taking this teasing too far, but she really didn’t care. Ah well.
As Cathan’s eyes portrayed sadness, something squeezed inside her. It wasn’t a good squeeze, either. She didn’t want to see him sad, and it hurt her that he was. She felt...bad inside, because he was. She shook her head. ”No, I’m fine. I can deal with it. Besides, I only have a few months, anyways. I can deal,” she told him before feeling his eyes wrap around her. If they were in a sappy chick flick, and he knew how she felt, or something like that, this would be one of those great moments for her to say ‘I love you’ to him. However, none of those situations really fit. They weren’t in a chick flick, and like hell she’d tell him how she felt, although she wasn’t sure it was actual love, without him asking her or something. She was defiant, and wouldn’t let her feelings come over their friendship unless he demanded to know.
She wanted so badly to just crumple on the ground and whine about her bruise. Not cry. She wouldn’t let her mother get to her that much, even if the woman wasn’t here to see tears falling down her cheeks. But Kat would know. She would know that the woman that had birthed had finally cracked her. Got the girl to a breaking point. She wouldn’t be able to live with herself if that happened. She was strong, she could bear through this. She wouldn’t let the horrid person that her mother was get to her, if it was the last thing she did. The only tears she’d shed over her mother would be when she left the detestable woman. And they’d be tears of happiness. Although, she supposed she might cry a little when her mother died. Just a few. ”I’m fine,” she breathed out, continuing to take deep breaths until the pain subsided. She was pretty sure that he knew by now what the problem was, but she was stubborn; she wouldn’t tell him straight out. ”It’s fine..I just...it’s...my arm...it’s okay.” She had nearly told him. Kat had probably given him a clue, anyways, due to her mentioning her arm.
”Yesssuhhh?” she stated in a sing song voice, looking at the grin creep upon his features. Oh, how he could melt someone with that grin. Or at least her. It was an extremely attractive one, even if he did have braces. At his offer, her eyes widened. Live with him? Well, for a few days at a time, anyways. But seriously? She could get away from her mother? She wasn’t sure if her mother would be fine with it, but like hell she’d let that woman stop her from getting away. ”Oh my gawd,” she breathed, staring at Cathan. Then she squealed. ”Holy fuck, yes! Yes!” She threw her arms around Cathan in a hug. She’d have to deal with concealing her feelings later, but she’d do anything to get away from her house, from her life there. She was so happy. She removed her slender arms from around her friend and grinned at him. ”Fuck...Cathan...I don’t know what to think...you’ve freeping made my day!” She told him, overfilled with happiness. Hell, she nearly felt as if tears of happiness could fall. With the exception that they weren’t. Oh well, it didn’t matter. ”Gawd....thank you..just...thank you.”
At Cathan’s retort to Kat’s making his killing of his social life illegal, she pouted. ”I would not give lollipops to prisoners. They shouldn’t have broken the law, then. Although, if you were put in jail for going against my law of killing your social life, then I’d probably give you a lollipop. Only ‘cause you’re my friend,” She told him with a sly grin. ”And what do zoo animals have to do with it? So what if they should be freed?” Okay, not all of them should be freed. Only the ones that weren’t endangered species, or close to it. The endangered species needed to stay, so they could breed and stop being endangered. It all worked out. Hey, she loved animals, so who could blame her? Although she did like going to the zoo, anyways. It was the only way she could look at all the awesome wild species in the world. Who wouldn’t like going to the zoo?
Kat grinned at his reply. ”I know, right?” She said with a grin, looking up at the sky. She was pretty creative, but just not with making shapes out of clouds. Especially since his rabbit with the ice cream cone idea about the cloud was stuck in her head, so it was hard to come up with another shape for it. She was an artist herself. Of music and photography, though. Although she couldn’t play any instrument, she could sing pretty well, and wrote some lyrics, occasionally. She could also come up with a bit of music herself, but she wouldn’t exactly know how to write it. But photography. She loved the feel of a camera in her hands. And she had two, not including her video camera. Her digital Pentax SLR and her regular digital camera. They had been gifts from her grandparents. Her video camera as well. Like her mother would ever give her good stuff like that. Her grandparents didn’t know of the situation between their daughter and granddaughter. Kat wasn’t sure if that was a good or bad thing. She was pretty sure they’d try to take her away if they knew, and she wouldn’t be able to see all her friends again. But whatever.
Kat smiled lightly as Cathan snuggled up to her. She really did like the position that the two were in, though she would die if she were to admit it. Sometimes, she would think everything would be easier if she admitted how she felt. Well, easier in some ways, harder than others. She was just so confused about everything. He sent her mixed feelings, but she knew better than to get her hopes up. Sometimes she thought that maybe he liked her, though she tried not to get too excited about that thought, and other times they seemed like just friends. They cuddled a lot more than normal friends might, but the two of them were very odd indeed, so she was never sure what he meant by it all. If she could just have her feelings out in the open, then maybe she would know how he felt. Then again, he might just reject her, and she’d be extremely sad if something like that happened. It would be extremely depressing, really.
As the awkward tension in the air continued, Kat decided that she wanted to go find a hole, crawl in it, and die. Then she might be spared the embarrassment that she felt here. Maybe telling him that wasn’t the best of ideas. She should’ve just kept her feelings to herself, contradicting her earlier thoughts of making everything easy by telling him. She wasn’t sure what he was thinking, and, boy, did she want to know what it was that was going through his head. As he randomly said a word, she blinked. The corner of her mouth tilted up, but she refused to smile. Now she was kind of glad that she hadn’t done exactly what he had. ”Err...” was the only thing Kat said in response. After she squeaked out her answer, she saw his eyes widen. Oh great, here it’s coming. He’s going to tell me he can’t do this.. she thought with a mental sigh.
After she pleaded her case, she squeezed her eyes shut again, preparing for his refusal of her, and possibly of their friendship, not seeing his head shake and smile. She just knew it was coming. He didn’t deserve someone like her. He wouldn’t like her like that. Cathan deserved so much better than her in a girl. And maybe he thought it would be too awkward to have a close friend like her like him in the way she did, and decide that they simply couldn’t do it. However, what she wasn’t prepared for was his arms to wrap around her and pull her onto his lap. Her eyes flew open in surprise and she looked up at him, confusion in her eyes. At his next words, her eyes grew wider. ”I..what?” she managed to squeak out, but then his phone rang, making it impossible for him to answer her.
Kat smiled lightly as he answered the phone in French. Really, it was a lovely language, and Cathan speaking his native language was really adorable and hot and just....yeah, you get my meaning. I hope. She glanced down at the ground, biting her lip. Did he mean what she thought he did? He actually liked her back? Her heart pounded heavily in her chest, racing. She just didn’t know what to think, and she couldn’t question him about what he said. Not now, he was on the phone. With his mother, if she remembered what few French words he had taught her correctly. She waited patiently as he spoke with the woman. Or, she spoke to him, as he wasn’t talking. Her mind was racing like crazy, and her thoughts were hard to decipher. Kat was extremely confused at this point.
She looked up as Cathan agreed to whatever his mom had to say, and then soon ended the call. ”I--“ she began, but immediately stopped whatever she was going to say as she realized that he was about to say something. At his words, her eyes grew even wider, and she was sure that her heart beat sped up even faster, if it was possible, for it was already beating crazily. ”I..you like me back?” She inquired, beyond surprised at his words. She shook her head. As if he would ask her that if he didn’t. ”Yesyesyesyyes!” She nearly shouted, her yes’s all slurred together in her excitement. She flung her arms around Cathan as she hugged him again, squeezing him before regaining her composure and going back to her previous position. ”I mean...if you want me to...but scratch what I said earlier about you fucking making my day. This has it beat easily!” Kat grinned widely at him, extremely happy in this point in time. Fuck, she had a boyfriend. Her first ever. That was something to be extremely fucking excited about.
