Carson set down the last of her boxes, and clapped her pale hands together. She had just finished unpacking, as she moved in two days previous. She glanced at the clock; it was already getting dark outside. Oh, how quickly time passes for an immortal.
Sighing, Carson slumped down into a chair, leaned back, and closed her dark green eyes. She ran her fingers through her long black hair, suddenly wishing she had a boyfriend. She had always dreamed of finding her significant other. Seeing that she had been around for a century and a half, she couldn't see why men weren't as drawn to her as they had been when she was human. Oh, why did she HAVE to be a vampire? It sent shivers down her spine. Is that really what she was? Well it all sort of fit. She had decided a while ago that she wouldn't become a monster straight from horror movie. How could she ever be a blood sucking deamon? That option didn't seem very sweet to her, and why the heck would she want to hurt some innocent human? It wasn't like it was their fault she was what she was. In fact, it was her own fault. Suddenly everything was her own fault.
Carson stood up and stretched her slender ivory arms above her head, yawning. A very humanlike behavior. She was trying to act more and more like ever since that little run in with another vampire at the theatre. Carson didn't know much about what she was, but she didn't want to end up like that chick. It was like the other vampire had human repelant spayed all over her. Carson just wanted a normal life, and she was prepared to do anything to get it. Carson to long graceful strides over to the door, swinging it open as she slipped on some Rainbows. She walked through the archway and closed the red door behind her with a muffled thump. She brushed her long fingers on the side of her house. She stood there transfixed, staring out over the lawn at nothing in particular. Her long hair feel gracefully over her right shoulder, and a slight breeze blew across her sad face. A single pearly tear ran down her face and dropped onto the stoop below her. Its cresent shaped stain stood out by her left foot. She walked out into the lawn, moving her small feet slowly, her angelic face gazing transfixed at the full moon, her arms open to embrace the world.
Her Romeo was out there. Maybe he was just waiting for the right time to come. She sighed. As longs as he came, she could wait.

He really wasn't watching where he was running. He was just running, as it seemed like the smartest thing to do with who was after him. Dimitri hadn't even been here two days and already inquired enemies. So, so, sad. How was he supposed to know this guy was in one of the local gangs? He looked like a perfectly normal gent on the street. You see, he didn't quite have time to explain to the brute that he was only planning on borrowing the, er, trinket of a watch. Okay, so he probably would've nicked his wallet, too, but it wasn't like the guy really needed it, from what Dimitri had heard of the Dhampir gang. Dealin' pot, and to highschool kids nonetheless. I mean, how low can you go? And he had taken on some pretty big guys a couple of times, but you didn't see this one. Oh yea, and he was kind of furious.
Although he had to give them credit for the cool gang name. Vampire halfings. Haha.
Suddenly he saw a picket fence in the corner of his eye. What better time then now to ditch the guy? Dimitri jerked his body in that direction and jumped. He half fell, half landed in a crouching position on the other side of the fence, his heart seeming to somehow be louder then his sloppy landing. Or anything else in the yard. He could hear cars from a distance, someone yelling a while off, but everything here was still in the quiet.
He didn't move, just tried to control his breathing, listening for any movement behind him. The grass smelled very, in his words... grassy. He hadn't smelt anything like that in so long... he guessed where he was from the scent of a million people kind of clogged your scenes. This was a new place. And yet he'd managed already to find himself in trouble. He blinked a few times, finding his vision had become blurred as his mind wandered off. Gah, he couldn't let himself do that. What if that guy had wondered up and found him? If he just stayed low here for a little while, he decided, maybe he wouldn't be found. He sat up, leaned his back against the fence. Looked up for the first time. His heart gave a slow thump and then seemed to pause. Several feet away a woman stood in the doorway of the house in front of him.
He rubbed the bridge of his nose. Stared at her. She was tall, and his deviant mind quickly commented to itself about the nice legs. She was slim, too, and the long dark hair that framed her face made her skin look quite pale by contrast. He also noticed that she seemed upset. A wet trail glinted on her cheek, betraying the tear that had run away. The last thing he needed was for her to go call the cops, or worse start screaming or something. He swallowed, tried to smile a little. He knew he wasn't doing a very good job, but hoped it sufficed for something apologetic. "Oh." he said, then paused, continued in a whisper, "Is this, er, your yard?"

Carson looked up suddenly. Her vampire senses could hear and smell someone approaching many moments before the creature came into view. It came in handy, though. Sometimes it helped her avoid awkward situations, such as that time she came into someone's house, erm, uninvited. . . . She could also sense feelings. Only strong feelings, however, and it was that that had drawn her into buying a house in the current area. There was an overwhelming sense of freedom here, and she always could look outside and feel like she was the most beautiful princess in the world. Childish, yes, but it was one of those things in life she could never let go of. Even if she she was feeling lonely, like no one else in the world could give a crap about her, she could walk into a cafe and listen to the friends laugh and feel friendship. She loved these small insights on feelings, and she loved how her entire mood could depend on how others felt.
This is why the sudden tenseness in the air surprised her. Tense feelings were not usual here, they were more common near the apartments, so she wondered if maybe someone had stumbled into the wrong side of town. Her ears picked up on the sound of someone running, a sound much like that of a dog lapping up water. As a vampire, she recognized everyone had a different rythme. It was something else that made us all unique. This rythme was of someone possesing extreme stealth. Only immortals would have even picked up on it.
She was not exactly startled when, with a soft thump, the lone fiqure landed over her picket fence. She did not turn when he didn't immeadiatly notice her. Instead she stood facing ahead determinedly. She felt his eyes on her and out of the corner of her almond shaped eyes she could see his body knealt over by her fence. She bit her lip, the awkwardness coursing through her. Her fists tightened. Don't do anything stupid, she thought. Leave it to her to freak the poor kid out. Oh. He seemed suprised. What, a girl couldn't be outside at three in the morning? Yeah, it might have looked a bit strange. But what was a teenage guy doing out so late? A lot of things, most likely. Is this, er, your yard?
No, she thought, I'm just sort of standing in some random person's yard. Yeah, favorite pastime. but instead she said, quite softly, her voice full of melody, Yes. It is. She turned and faced him. His eyes were big and shining in the moonlight. A small smile graced her red lips. Humans were all so innocent, even when guilty. Still, this guy was cute. She couldn't help herself thinking.
And may I ask why you graced me with your appeance? She said it jokingly, twirling a piece of dark hair around her pointer finger. She stepped over to him, holding out a slender hand to help him up. It was a small helpful offer given with a smile. Finally, something interesting after she had been so bored for weeks. Someone to talk to. Unless, the young man didn't want to talk. Then of course, she would let him be on his way, never to cross paths with her again.

His smile had pretty much faded, if it had existed at all. Dimitri expected that he looked pretty dumbfounded right then. Didn't like picturing himself like that, but was pretty taken with this girl. He squinted at her for a moment, raised his eyebrows. She did look young, but there was something about her. It's mysterious, is what he thought, as he looked into the green eyes.
Her voice was velvety, and he was surprised at the sound, but it suited her perfectly. He raised his eyebrows. Oh, so he had just fallen into some girl's yard. Well, at least he wasn't stalking outside her window, eh? Just hiding next to her fence. Wait. Is there that much difference? At least she wasn't screaming, as he had first expected. Or hitting him, which hadn't seemed unlikely, with how she'd gone to clenching her fists, either. She looked surprisingly cool at the moment. And hot, he thought. Not to say she couldn't be a sly, calculating person underneath the elegant figure she portrayed... He narrowed his eyes, then quickly smoothed out his face out.
She said graced her, with his appearance? He half smiled, glanced down at his jeans, the knees ripped out, and mucked up navy blue hoodie. He looked up to see her walk over to stand in front of him, then. Her movements were graceful, he noticed immediately. Like she could be a dancer. The Killer's song popped into his head then, of course. Are we human, or are we dancer? Stupid annoying song... And she held out her hand to him. Dimitri was still sitting in the dewy grass.
He rejected the seemingly kind gesture and quickly scrambled up to stand opposite the girl. He didn't really want to upset her, you never know what people are capable of, but he didn't like to accept help from strangers. Or anyone. He guessed he would've helped her up, sure, but it wasn't like he needed any help himself. And no, he told himself, it wasn't because she was a girl at all. He shook her hand instead. His eyes trailed away right off, to bare rose bushes, realizing how awkward a move this had been to make.
He pulled his hand from hers and put it in his pocket. "You see," Dimitri finally said, letting his voice rise from the whisper he had taken to previously. "I seemed to have run into a vampire on the street, and... well, it's a rather long story." It wasn't really that long. Basically, he'd just got caught by a guy he tried to steal from. A guy who chased him, who was probably still looking for him. Fun times. Anyways, he really shouldn't be just standing here.
"Why are you just standing around out here?" he asked the girl. So what if it was her yard, didn't she have parents or something to yell at her? "Isn't it a little cold for you? I'm kinda cold, and I have this on." he yanked at the hoodie. He was cooling down after the running now, his heart had stopped pumping so quickly, went back to normal. Well, maybe not normal, since more often then not he was pulling some stunt that had him on the edge.

The boy seemed to be feeling awkward. Carson felt bad for him, as she above all people knew what it was like to feel awkward. She smoothed her raven black hair and smiled at him. A gust of strong March winds blew her hair back out of place and flying around her angled shoulder blades. She did want this kid to feel welcome, for reasons she couldn't explain.
She tugged at her bright blue jacket, pulling it down over her stomach. She guessed she looked a bit peculiar standing around so late. When he told her he had a run in with some vampires, she cocked her head, narrowing her cat like emerald green eyes. Did he mean real vampires? Or just some type of silly gang? She folded her arms across her chest.
-not finished, sorry I've had an extremely busy week-
