COLLEENbubbles (yea, i know, it's actually Doulle. but bubbles is bubbly) "Cheer up, emo kid!" Colleen downed the rest of her coffee, poured another cup. She poured some creamer in, chocolate éclair flavor, then added quite a few extra spoonfuls of sugar. She stirred it around, the cup rattling from her unsteady hands. She laughed at this. She had a huge grin spread over her face, and her eyes were crazy wide, like they were ready to pop out of her head and roll across the kitchen floor.
Colleen was in the middle of letting her mind wander off. She'd been up all night, mostly eating anything sugary she could find, playing with her makeup, and flicking through TV channels and old glamor magazines she'd brought with her from the States. Oh, and she'd bought like fifty new wallpapers for her cell. Wallpaper shopping was always so entertaining. All the pretty colors and designs!
She'd never been to Russia before, and was excited to say the least. It should be rather unsurprising, however. She tended to stay close to where she grew up, flicking back and forth from New Hampshire and Georgia. But America did get a little boring after a few centuries. Besides, all the vampires she knew there were mean! She wanted to get away from their pessimistic-ness for a little while. Plus there were a few too many murder investigations going on around where she liked to stay... and the blood on her hands had left stains all over the place pointing back to her. This little city tucked away in Russia had seemed perfect. There wouldn't be anything but humans around. And if the thirst came over too bad it isn't like a few of them would be too missed, she'd thought, smiling, while daydreaming on the flight over.
She heard her cellphone's alarm go off in her bedroom a few rooms over, announcing that it was 6:30 in the morning. Then it was suddenly replaced by her ringtone, some Relient K song (it was Chap Stick, Chapped Lips, and Things Like Chemistry, actually, although she knew her phone was scared of that song - the whole batman ride thing, ya know?). She almost dropped her coffee cup, she was so jiddery. She placed it carefully on the counter and darted to the other room.
"Hi cutey!" she answered animatedly. It was the secretary of the local highschool, sleepily asking if Colleen could substitute this particular morning. She seemed ticked that Colleen sounded so awake and cheery. The secretary explained that the History teacher had called in sick and all, every single one, of the other subs weren't available. "Oh, that'll be fiiine! I'll be there soon, soon, soon!" said Colleen, ending the call, unaware of how disturbed she had the woman on the other end of the line.
Colleen arrived at the school early. Actually, it was about ten minutes after she got the call, so very early. She found her way to the principle's office and burst in with a quick knock. "I'm Colleen!" The secretary, who was a dry-looking middle-aged woman with a nameplate on her desk which said Mrs. M. Eirann, looked up and raised her eyebrows at Colleen's young, spirited, appearance. Her lips pursed, the secretary got up. "That's nice. This way." she said curtly, and walked out into the hallway. Colleen danced after her. Mrs. Eirann lead the way through empty hallways lined with lockers and thick, closed, classroom doors. Colleen was actually quiet and not her usual chattering self, lost in her own mad thoughts. Her brother-in-law, who indeed wasn't a church-going man, used to call her a "silly crackbrained girl". She'd probably forgotten all about that by this age, though. The secretary quickly showed her the teachers' lounge, where Colleen waved at a gray-haired man who stared blankly at her from his seat on a couch, drinking coffee.
"You're an American?" was the only thing the older woman asked, obviously speaking of Colleen's accent. "Yes, ma'am! I just got here a few weeks ago!" answered Colleen giddily. A long awkward silence drew out between them then, until they got to the classroom where the History class always took place. It was then that the secretary explained that everything Colleen would need was right in this folder, or that drawer. That this was where the extra chalk could be found, and not to open the windows.
Colleen wasn't especially paying attention. She was looking around the room, that stupid grin still pasted over her lips. She hadn't taught in so long! She counted back the decades. In the 1990's I stayed around those colleges... oh, all those cute college boys! Too bad what happened to that one poor sweet guy. But his blood was sweet, just like candy! Oh my gosh, I need more coffee! She didn't notice that the secretary had stopped and was staring at her, as Colleen's face was going through so many expressions. And in the '80s I was that highschool girl named Jackie. That was so fun! And in the '70s I... wait, I got my five teaching degrees?! Wow, I'm pretty awesome! Although that Jonny vamp graduated college a lot more times than me... I wonder if he still has a mustache... Colleen only came back into focus the third time the secretary gave a loud ahem. "Oh!" "You have -" she secretary glanced at her watch. "an hour until the kids get here. I have things to do now, excuse me." And she was gone.
Colleen sat down at the desk and stared at the empty desks. I need coffee... right now! Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh. She made up a song to do with coffee and started singing it under her breath. She didn't think she knew how to get through the maze of hallways back to the teacher's lounge, and felt really sad about it, because she really did want more coffee. Some chocolate would've been good, too.
Then she started hysterically giggling to herself, for no apparent reason (other than the fact that she was hyped up on sugar and caffeine, but we already get that). She sat up straight in her chair and glanced around hyperactively. Oh, this will be a fuuun!

Alucard got done with his normal nighttime hunt through the nearby woods of the castle. He loved to just every few days go out there and see how many creatures would, if he was still, come up to him. He also went out there to see how many werewolves he could find and kill, as an assassin, it was kinda his job to do that for the king. He walked into a shower, that was slightly cold at first but warmed up quickly for there weren't many people up right now so it seemed. He checked his watch to see that it was one about 5 am and he was kinda hungry. He also wanted to do something today instead of just lading around the castle watching yet another day go by. He decided that he would pose as a teacher for the day at the local school. It wasn't much, but he could also get a feed out of it. He got out of the shower and walked over to his wardrobe closet. He grabbed clothes that he thought might be appropriate to pose as a teacher in. He pulled out a suit coat, a white shirt, and khakis. He walked over to the mirror and looked at himself. "Well, this could work, but i need something more...." he said to himself. He looked around for what he really needed...sunglasses. He found the pair he was looking for in seconds. They looked kinda like old welders goggles from teh 50's, but still they looked amazing on him. Now he just needed a few more things. He grabbed his phone and put a note on his door saying he was going to be gone all day, if they needed him...well....sucks for them. He got on his bike and raced into town. He needed to think of a plan on how to really get into the high school easily and without much fuss, and to get a meal out of it. He got an idea, but first he was going to get his meal and his coffee. The coffee came first, it was early, but a coffee place was open and he got a cup. He was out of their, and it was only 5:45, enough time to get his meal and then be off to school. He got to a bar, it was getting near closing time, and this was were an easy meal was to be snatched...he hadn't eaten in a month...He walked up to a pair, which was not made in heaven, he had to have been twice her age. He was able to get her out of their without much issue and...had breakfast.... He got back onto the road, it was now 6:15 and he didn't have much time in order to really pull off this move, but he really didn't need much time. He had mind tricks on his side. The school may have been small, but it had 2 History teachers that he knew of, and he was going to replace on of them for the day. He got to teh guys house to find him up and getting ready for work. He knocked at the door and when the man answered he started to lay on the vampiric hypnotism. He convinced him, in a very short time, that he was going to take the day off and let Alucard take his place. He even had him make a plan for what to teach today. Alucard left their with a smile and the sun was up, so he took out the sunglasses and went off to the school with plan and all. He got to the school and found the office. "I was called to take Mr. Handford's classes today, he isn't feeling well. Can you show me his classroom?" He heard her mumble something about the other History sub being early as him and how the history teachers much have gotten it from each other. When they got down to the room, he thanked her and she went on her way. He looked across the hall and saw a woman, well more like a girl, who smelled a lot like a vampire seemingly shaking in her chair. It was rather entertaining to watch for a bit, but he wanted to talk to someone so he walked over to the door and knocked on it and stood their waiting for the twitching vampire to notice him. THE SUNGLASSES(OMG I LOVE THEM)

COLLEENbubbles (yea, i know, it's actually Doulle. but bubbles is BUBBLY) "Cheer up, emo kid!" There were steps in the hallway, and the murmurer of voices, but neither bother her. Not even the single set of footsteps walking across the hall towards her classroom. It was the scent that first jolted her mind into becoming clearer, taking away the taste of coffee on her tongue and making her grin droop for a second. That jolt that was meant to prepare her for danger, that she always despised. She didn't control her body well, and usually she went with it, but she had always worked against her vampire instincts - if by her knowledge or not. She took some air in through her nose and the scent filled it. That certain smell she hadn't picked up since the streets of New York, before she'd come here. Since she ran into the tramp with fangs. The man's picture popped up in her mind. Dirty clothed and dark haired, plastic bags tied around his arms. Him stalking her around those back streets, sneaking quietly up, soundlessly, unlike a human could do. She tensed at the unwanted memory for half a second. She'd actually been able to keep it away the whole time she was here, but now that one of her kind was near again it all came back.
Yes... she smelled her kind.
Someone, vampire her mind tittered, knocked on the door of her classroom. Colleen's eyes flicked up to the doorway. Something sent a shiver up her spine. A man - truthfully he was probably far from young, but that's what he appeared to be - stood there watching her. Rather big, dark hair. Dark hair like another vampire. But once she really saw him that... fear? It went away. Her mind was going back to fuddled, the alarm fading. Her wide smile was spreading back over her lips. Her eyes met his and flickered with a new light. Pretty! she thought of his pale irises.
"Heeey!" she said, hoping her voice didn't sound as squeaky and low as it did to her. But it wasn't like he wouldn't be able to hear her. Her feet twitched, tapped on the floor. "Who're you? I mean, not to be so direct, that's a little rude, but they call me Colleen, or, well, lots of stuff. Today I guess it's subby. No one wears sunglasses indoors, you know. Is this very normal, for you to be here?" It came out of her mouth in a quick string of jumbled words. She paused to catch a breath and consider if she meant to ask if it was normal for vampires to be in the school or area. Even the country, for that matter, really. She looked down and wrinkled her nose, still holding that grin well in place.
Her eyes flashed back up to the vampire for a moment, and then around the room. An empty coffee cup sat on the edge of the desk, not hers, probably left by the teacher from the day before. She couldn't help raising from her seat a bit to make sure it was completely empty, even though there was no shadow and it'd be hours old. Her heart sank a little when her eyes proved against her hopes.
Coffee coffee coffee coffee! Sugarrr! Cream and sugar! Coffee! I need some... coffee! she wanted to scream, and licked her lips, but she stayed quiet and looked up to her counterpart. I never expected to find one of me here. Coffee.
(OOC:) lawl I can tell. They're sweet shades.

Alucard's senses were known to be very highly tuned, more than most vampires. It was partly because of his age, and also to his job as an assassin. The instant that he had gotten close to the door, he could smell that there was a bit of fear coming from the girl in the room, and the smell of a lot of caffeine. The smell of the fear seemed to go away though the moment that she looked at him. HE guessed that maybe his vampire sent triggered a bad memory for her, maybe something to do with the night she was bit or the night she had to feed for the first time. Those tended to be the memories that stuck out the most in any vampire's mind. It was almost a haunting thing when you finally figure out what you have become, the curse that you now must deal with. Some vampires didn't' see it as a curse, but Alucard sure did. A curse that made you every so often have to kill some innocent mortal so you can survive a bit longer.
When she began to talk to him she seemed to have a lot of energy for this time in the morning. He heard her say "Hey", it was quiet, but he picked it up easily and entered the room. It was then that he was battered with words. He picked it all up, or so he hoped, but she seemed to have had a bit much coffee this morning. "ok, I think you have had enough caffeine for one day. You sound like you are on high gear right now." he paused for a second as she seemed to check a coffee cup to see if it was empty. "Yeah, no more for you" He walked in front of the desk and leaned on one of the student desks. "To answer your questions, or at least as much as i understood them, I am Alucard Owins. I am here as a substitute teacher. he took off the sunglasses now and shook his head to get his hair in a good position, his eyes, currently a shade of blue that is almost never seen in the human world, settled on Colleen's face. "It isn't that common for me to be here, at the school that is. I am just here because i wanted something to do today." he said with a smirk.
Alucard could tell that the girl was really going through a caffeine high right now, and might crash sooner or later, most likely in the middle of class. He took a sip of coffee out of the cup that he had with him but made sure that Colleen didn't reach out and try to grab it.

COLLEENbubbles (yea, i know, it's actually Doulle. but bubbles is buuubbly!) "Cheer up, emo kid!" Colleen eyed the coffee cup Alucard held, her breathing becoming shallow. She scooted forward to the edge of her seat. Enough coffee for today? Was he insane? This was only the beginning! Hell, it wasn't even eight yet! He took a sip of the liquid and Colleen almost fell off her chair. The aroma floated across the room, and mingled under her sensitive nose. Colleen's lips felt dry again, so she ran her tongue over them.
"It's... not right to deprive someone of something so essential." she stated, trying to keep her voice smooth, calm. To hide the overly obsessiveness. She forced herself to look away from what he held, swallowing to clear a dry spot in her throat. "A... you sub, too?" she asked, sliding back into her seat and trying to focus. "History - like me? Weird they have both of their history teachers take off, huh? But I love history! It's super fun fun fun! And comes rather easy to me. I guess it would come easy to any vampies." she gasped at her mistake and giggled, still on the edge of hysterics. "Except... you know how the memory loss goes for some people." she waved her hand to show what she thought of that. Most of the time they overdo it. Like who wouldn't remember what tennis is? Or coffee? Who could forget coffee? Coffee. Coffee. Cofffeeeee... A drooling Homer Simpson flickered at the edges of her mind, and then it quickly changed that line of thought and started calculating ways to get what she wanted. Need.
"If you aren't here normally then... what do you do most of the time? Do you live around here? Have a house? Doggy?!" she was curious, the odds of her finding another vampire in the one town she had been sure she wouldn't, right across the hall... Definitely something worth being curious about! Isn't it? she rubbed her temples. Oh, golly gumdrops, I hope I don't get a migraine. The coffee might be losing effect and leaving a nasty hang over (if you were Colleen you knew the term was very real) sooner than Colleen thought it might. She needed to get some more of the stuff. Soon, too!
Colleen hopped up from her chair and darted over to the open door, swifter than she should have been able to move, if she was completely human, as appearances went. Luckily the school was quiet. At least there wasn't any activity worth her notice. She could hear people - other teachers, janitor, maybe even an early student - walking through the building hallways away, but they weren't bothering her. "I need to move!" she squealed to Alucard, her eyes lighting up as she watched his smooth face, her eyes only momentarily flicking to his coffee cup. "C'mon, let's go find some... food or something!" that didn't quite come out how she wanted it, but she couldn't take it back now.
(OOC:) Sorry for the time it took me to reply. Been sick. Am sick. Not fun.

Alucard could tell that this was really getting to Colleen that he was drinking coffee right in front of her and so calm about it when she was nearly squirming in her seat to get more coffee into her system. It was very apparent to him that she had been up all night, but that shouldn't have her drinking this much caffeine. She looked like she was about to literally be bouncing off the walls. It was almost entertaining to him that she was like this, it looked like Hunter's Rush, but it was different.
Hunters Rush is what happens to some vampires when they get a feed, they get such a rush from it that they don't want to stop hunting and get back to the real world. It was basically a fatal thing for a vampire to do because it attracted a lot of attention, which is never what you want when you have fangs.
Alucard took another sip of his coffee, "Caffeine is not an essential thing to you and me. Our bodies work differently than those of the creatures around us." he said, but he could tell that she wasn't really going to listen to him, but he was going to have to get her to calm down before classes started, and this was not going to be an easy task to do with a girl who is like this. He took a few steps forward as she spoke some more, almost like babbling. "I am a sub, in a way. I kinda just took the spot for the day through my own means, but the guy will be back tomorrow." he said, trying to be as concise as possible when talking to a person who had an attention span of five seconds.
"I work for my own means, i do what i want around when i want. I use to be a swordsmith and gunsmith." he checked the door to see if there was anyone out there yet, he didn't see or hear anyone. He looked back up at her from his cup and then looked back down at it. "If you really must know about if i have a dog. I am a cat person, i find that most vampires are, they are nicer and aren't in anyway linked to the Werewolves." he told her. He had a loathing for the Werewolves and most dogs just because of their nature to kill everything. Werewolves didn't really seem to have much of an independent mind, they seemed to know only a few things, and kill was one of the few.
He watched as she darted to the door, and seemed really to want to go, he knew for what before she said anything. He knew then why she had been drinking so much caffeine, she had gotten drunk and was going through a hangover. Alucard knew the cure for that in an instant, also it would get her relaxed. While her back was turned he bit into his wrists and dripped some of his blood into his coffee. "Before we go have some of this coffee, i don't want it anymore." He handed her the cup.
Vampire blood was an amazing thing that reanimated dead tissue and prevented it from decaying. This blood also had some other properties that were useful. If you could drink vampire's blood as a vampire it would get rid of hangovers, pain, and even speed up healing. It equaled out the bodies actions so that it got rid of things like caffeine overdose.

COLLEENbubbles (yea, i know, it's actually Doulle. but bubbles is buuubbly!) "Cheer up, emo kid!" Colleen idly wondered if the normal teacher really would be back before quickly getting sidetracked with something else Alucard said. Most vampies like kitties? Colleen didn't know if she could take that as fact. She'd always been fond of labs. Every since Fritter, the one her father had. But werewolves! They weren't anything more than puppies, really. As long as you didn't get too close they were usually sweethearts, as far as bloodthirsty things that would love to rip your throat out went. She giggled at the memories. She'd always gotten along with the few she knew okay back in the States, so why was there that hint of disgust in Alucard's voice? Offhandedly she asked, "Why don'tch ya like werewolves?"
Her eyes widened (if possible) when he offered her what was left of his coffee. She had his cup out of his hand in an instant. "Caffeine is not an essential thing to you and me." Colleen mimicked arrogantly under her breath after she downed what remained of the coffee. It tasted odd. She blinked once, twice, and shook her head. But it was coffee, that's all she was worried about. "Thanks," she said, and then made a repulsed face. "But you definitely don't put in nearly enough sugar or cream!" She tilted the cup back to make sure she got every drop, made another face. "What...?" she didn't finish speaking her thought. brand is this?
She stared at nothing in particular for a long moment and then started bouncing up and down in the doorway. She'd completely forgotten what she had been planning on doing, which was probably strange for her kind. But Colleen had never questioned why her memory hadn't enhanced with everything else when she was changed. She just went on her chirpy little way. Why did the Mrs. Eirann say not to open the windows? Does she know I'm a vampire and doesn't want... wait, that didn't make sense. What did she think, some student was going to fling themselves out the window?
Colleen was hanging off the doorknob now, swinging back and forth. When the thought hit her she was across the classroom and clawing at the lock on top of the window frame. She managed to unlock it, finally, and pushed the window up with a little too much force. There was a cracking sound, but she wasn't really paying attention. A whoosh of cold air came in the room, and Colleen's eyes danced wildly with delight. If any students are gunna fling themselves out the window I better test their landing! she told herself, grinning. Not that she needed to justify herself or anything. Once Colleen thought of something that seemed fun to her she just did it, with or without thinking about consequences.
It wasn't too high a drop. Only 20 feet or so. Colleen looked over her shoulder and waved at Alucard before slipping her legs over the sill and jumping out the window, kicking off the side of the building and doing a flip before she landed, crouching, in the grass. She was at the back side of the building, a few acres of lawn with a thin treeline at the edges. Yep, I'm pretty sure a human could hurt themselves! she thought, to make sure her test was complete.
"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon!" she whisper-screeched up to the classroom window before clapping a hand over her own mouth, giggling through her fingers. What am I doing out here? someone inside her head asked, and her eyes darts to each of the floorground windows. No sign of life. Maybe the high was wearing off? That'd suck... maybe she needed some more coffee! She did a cartwheel, the grass sticking to her palms and making imprints.

Alucard smiled a bit when she asked him why he didn't like Werewolves. He had a long list of reasons to disdain them, from killing his wife to just the general war that had been raging between Werewolves and Vampires for as long as he knew of. "You want a reason?" he asked her before he undid his shirt showing the scars that were on his chest. He held it open for a second then put his shirt back together and then looked back up at her. "That is one of hundreds of reasons. Another one has to do with the way that they killed my wife." he said. The images of his house when he came home that night flashed through his head again, the blood all over the walls, both vampire and werewolf alike, his wife hadn't gone down without a fight. He found her body being stood over by a werewolf who had her blood all over his face and body.
Alucard got his mind back into the moment and noticed that she was loving his offer of his coffee and she downed it quickly. She seemed that she didnt' like the taste of it, and he knew why that was, but he wasn't going to tell her. "I tend to put something different than most people in my coffee, it is nothing, really." he said, with a slight smirk of his over his face. He heard her then start to say something, but she didn't finish the question, and he really didn't care.
She then seemed to turn her attention towards the window, she seemed to be wondering something about it. He really didn't care anything about it, it was a window and they were about 20 to 30 feet off the ground, it was nothing at all, just a drop, not important in anyway, or interesting to him at least, but he wasn't tripping over a caffeine overdose. He didn't ask anything he just stood there and watched as she then opened it and jumped out of it. He heard her hit the ground, and he walked over to the window and saw her on the ground looking up at him. He heard her tell him to come down. "If you really want me to" he said, then he checked to make sure no one was near the door and he jumped out the window and landed softly on the ground, his eyes red from actually having to use one of his vampire tricks. "Alright, now what, get back up? That is even easier." he said, as a challenge in a way. He had a few tricks that very few knew about, tricks that prevented him from dieing a lot of the time when he got into bad fights.
